Re: I can't find the WifiSendAlert() function in the librari
Probably best to do it on both sides...that way even if there's a bug one one side or the other there's never a situation where a dozen people get 10,000 alerts...

Re: Salinity
So you recommend me to stay with my ATO? Yup. I agree with them. If you relied only on the salinity and the probe misread for a while, you could dump an awful lot of fresh water into your system... Float switch should be much more reliable. Checking both (and allowing for some margin of error) is e...

@bhazard: Why do you wish the wireless attachment could be "wireless N"?
I assume you mean 802.11n, the standard that allows for faster communication than 802.11b or g?
Are they making N-only access points now?

Re: Cloudy PH Probe
Unless you're using a fairly decent multimeter 0.12V could just be junk data. What measurement range are you using when it reads that? It also could be that the potential of the tank is "floating" if you disconnected all power (by literally pulling all of the plugs, not just switching them...

@Paulturner911: It seems to be usually related to the VC++ redistributable... I imagine the installer ensures that you have the right one though. (Perhaps it doesn't, or maybe if it used to work you have installed something that changed the version of the library you had...) Maybe try reinstalling t...

Nope, it can use port 2000... you will just need a different public port on your router forwarded to your friend's controller (since it will have its own IP)

I've played with the pre-release for a bit.. seems very nice so far! Question: Is there an option to hide the Daylight and Actinic control channels for those of us that have other fixtures? (in my case, AI Sol) Minor bug in the last release that I can't test easily in the pre-release: After installi...

Re: Did someone say iPhone app?
FYI, If things go how I hope with my wifi project, I'm hoping to move the management of all of that into a server, so that individual apps don't need to worry about the memory mapping at all (or the custom ones for a particular user). It would be centralized and a user's customizations would carry a...
Re: Wiki
This is a very common one: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki I haven't installed it myself but my understanding is it's pretty easy to get up and running. There are instructions to get it up in IIS, though I would guess it is easier with Apache. Alternatively, I don't mind hosting it on one of...

Re: Dimming LEDs
Yup. You won't plug dimmable LEDs in with a standard edison (3-prong) plug. They'll operate on much lower DC power that you provide with an LED driver (which would in turn be controlled by the RA), unless you were to buy an LED fixture that already just accepted a "PWM" or "0-10V DC&q...

Re: Issue connecting to new router with setup utility
I don't think it's getting the IP from another router. It does say the interface is "DOWN". Looks pretty similar to my config. The only difference is mine is explicitly using "Auth=WPA1", though the AP is "WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode". Interestingly, I thought I set it to "...

I did a quick search through the forum and it seems as though there's an option in the wifi setup wizard.
