Re: Temp probe issue, T1, T2, T3 moving around?!
Ah ok, so just change it in the code and let the head unit assign whatever it wants? Makes sense if that's how it works.

Re: Temp probe issue, T1, T2, T3 moving around?!
I guess my next question is how to I get them to report the way that I want. My probes are different lengths and I want to make sure I get a specific one on T1 regardless of what other probes are installed.

Temp probe issue, T1, T2, T3 moving around?!
So I had a weird issue tonight. My T1 probe jumped up to 185 degrees and put the system in overheat mode, the head unit was frozen so I had to unplug it. All was good for a few hours and it did the same thing again. I figured it was a faulty temp probe so I changed it with an extra I had. This is wh...

Re: Analog cable problem with Tunze pumps
I guess I'm not 100% sure. I assumed the app wouldn't work correctly to turn on/off the relays if I used the wrong box. Maybe I am just an idiot I will check this tonight when I get home.

Re: Analog cable problem with Tunze pumps
They are connected to an analog Relay Box. Everything was put back exactly the way it was. Everything just happened to be unplugged for about 20-30 minutes.

Re: Analog cable problem with Tunze pumps
As far as I know. I can't say with 100% certainty but I am pretty sure they were working, I would have noticed the severe lack of flow.
When I unplugged everything I just zip tied some cables and rearranged them, I didn't change wall outlets or anything.

Analog cable problem with Tunze pumps
I ran in to a weird issue today after I unplugged everything and plugged it back in. Basically my Tunze pumps aren't working correctly with the Tunze cables plugged in. If I unplug the cable the pumps work fine. As soon as I plug them in they don't work as expected. If I set the pump speed to 100 th...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
During my testing I took the RA head unit and a relay box to another outlet away from the fish tank. Turned it on and hooked ONLY the PH probe to the head unit and put it in a glass of water. I then used a multimeter to test the voltage and it read 47v.

Thanks for the quick response Roberto, I thought I may need to do that. Since this has been working for months without issue it led me to believe it wasn't needed.

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
Gugs Jr, My tank is also plugged in to the same circuit as one of the kitchen outlets. However it isn't the same as the appliances. I just ignored it for now... Everything I read said it isn't to much of an issue unless you ground the tank, then the voltage has somewhere to go. Wasn't exactly the an...

Dosing pump code problem
So I came home today and my dosing pump was stuck on... It should run for 20seconds every 30minutes. This is the code I am using if (ReefAngel.Params.PH < 830) { ReefAngel.DosingPumpRepeat( DosePump,0,30,20 ); } Is there something wrong with this code? Currently When I set the relay to auto it just ...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
When I checked the ground wire I did get a reading of 1v. The multimeter read 1 just in open air so not sure if that has to do with humidity or not. I have not checked the neutral wire, I won't be able to do that until Sunday. One thing I noticed is that when I have everything plugged in and turned ...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
So I have done A LOT of research regarding stray voltage and the aquarium. I have determined that all my devices put SOME current in to the water, the biggest culprits being ungrounded pumps like the power heads and the skimmer. The biggest culprit is still the Reef Angel, when it is turned on the v...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
I only had a 19.5VDC power supply. I tested that and it tested at 19.6V. I'm not too concerned with the voltage really it is more the current. The voltage doesn't have a path out of the tank until I stick my hand, or a grounding probe in it. This current goes away, or is at least reduced, when the R...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
So I brought a multimeter home from work to do some testing. First I tested for stray voltage on the ground wire in the wall outlet, the reading was 1-2 volts. Next I moved the relay unit the head unit and the pH probe to another outlet, I stuck the pH probe in a glass of water and took a reading. T...

Re: pH probe shocking tank?
I just created a similar thread earlier today, I thought I was the only one with this issue so I didn't even look through the forum. I unplugged everything and noticed the same problem. I went as far as unplugging everything and moving the head unit and relay box to another outlet on another wall. I...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
Well I took the head units, relay box, and pH probe to another room and hooked it up to a completely different outlet. I still received stray voltage when the pH probe was in a glass of water regardless of which relay box I used. I have no clue what is happening, this all started happening sometime ...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
So I have done some more testing. I had a "grounding" probe in the tank. I took this probe out and put it in a cup of water and got stray voltage off of it, obviously not properly grounded. Still though with just the head unit plugged in and 1 relay module I get stray voltage from the pH p...

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
You are correct. Nothing is plugged in to the head unit accept the pH probe. Nothing is plugged in to the relay box either. I have tested plugging it in to 2 GFCI outlets as well as in to a regular wall outlet. This didn't make a difference.

Re: Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
I disconnected everything and plugged in the module into another outlet with just the head unit and pH probe. I put the pH probe in a cup and stuck my finger in it. I could still feel stray voltage, also with a damp finger(where the cut is) I touched the BNC connector and could still feel a tingle. ...

Stray Voltage - Nothing Plugged In except pH probe.
So I am confused. I was cleaning the tank today and small cuts on my thumb started tingling. One by one I unplugged every device. The stray voltage still exists with JUST an analog dimming module and the head unit hooked up with a PH probe. The only thing in the water is a pH probe. If I put my fing...

Ok... So after digging through code and trying to wrap my head around what these wave patterns are doing I am making progress. This is what I have so far. byte IntervalMode(byte MinSpeed, byte MaxSpeed, int PulseDuration, byte PumpNumber) { static int mode; byte pspeed=0; mode=hour()%2; if (mode==0 ...

Re: How to alternate between 2 pump modes every hour?
You might be giving me more credit than I deserve! I have looked at the wave patterns and I am starting to understand how they work but I don't understand how I can have one pump doing one thing while the other pump is doing something else. So if I call the wave pattern with something like ReefAngel...

Re: How to alternate between 2 pump modes every hour?
Thanks! What I am really trying to mimic is the functionality of interval mode on a Tunze 7096 wave controller. They have a setting where you set the minimum speed, maximum speed, pulse duration and interval. This "wave pattern" would work as follows; the first pump runs at the minimum spe...

I have been playing around with the code and have come up with the code pasted below. At this point I am just messing around and maybe someone else will find this useful.
