Re: Multi Water Level Expansion Not Working
Looks like I'll have to send the multi WL back again. I've been running everything with just that disconnected since it started playing up the other day. Everything is fine with it disconnected. Whenever I plug the multi WL it goes straight into bus lock. As soon as I unplug it it stops. Rinse and r...

Re: Multi Water Level Expansion Not Working
Yes I think I did bump some cables. This is what I think has caused it but I have re plugged all the cables several times since, rebooted, turn all power on and off, everything I can think of.

Re: Multi Water Level Expansion Not Working
Update I left all this running as it was since my last post and a few days later it sorted itself out. It had since been running flawlessly without a single hiccup until the weekend. I did a water change on Saturday and the problem has returned. Its strange and has me quite stumped. Not sure what to...

Re: Multi Water Level Expansion Not Working
Right, the last 2 mornings I have been plugging the Multi WL straight into the relay box for the half day before my lights come on. It still blanked on me yesterday, but this morning things are getting worse. First thing this morning, heard gurgling, WL blanked out again (running through expansion r...

Re: Multi Water Level Expansion Not Working
I do have an expansion hub, I only have the multi WL and my dimming expansion for the led light. Ive never had a single problem with the light. The multi WL and expansion hub were added at the same time. It's happened twice tonight since I've been home from work. Both times it only went down for a f...

Multi Water Level Expansion Not Working
Ok, so for the past 4+ weeks I've had the multi water level module running on my tank. I only have 2 channels hooked up atm, 1 in the sump and 1 in the overflow, running the "Robertoflow" code. The ATO is still running off the float switch and the water level has been reporting 70% consist...

Re: Erratic Water Level Expansion
Another video showing both channels and where they're positioned.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsbwO2l49uA
Edit: 10mins after posting this channel 3 has climbed to 89-94 and channel 4 somewhere above 120. I haven't changed anything and the water levels are the same.

Re: Erratic Water Level Expansion
Seems I spoke too soon. Channel 3 which is in the sump is still fluctuating about 4-6%. I have just set up another pipe in the display for testing on channel 4 and its bouncing round like in the video. Both of these levels should be completely stable. Channels 1 and 2 are giving odd readings at cali...

Re: Erratic Water Level Expansion
Hmm, woke up this morning and checked the controller and its now perfectly stable at 63, bounces between 63 and 64 but I assume that's completely normal. Will hookup another pipe in my overflow and see how I get on but for now its looking good. The values its set at are 731 min and 1709 max.

Re: Erratic Water Level Expansion
I have moved the tube from my return section to the main part of my sump and it seems to have settled some. It still fluctuates around 4-6% even though my sump level is constant. Is this normal? I thought it should be alot more steady than this.

Yep it does, I tried in it on 1 then 2 and have the same problem on 3, I assume channel 4 will be the same.

Erratic Water Level Expansion
So I received my multi water level expansion the yesterday. Changed my code last night to use this for the ato, set up a tube in my return chamber and plugged it all in. Have calibrated it multiple times on different channels with the same issue. It fluctuates terribly. If its sitting around say 60%...

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
Thank you both for looking into this. AlanM, I have the same issue you do with the meanwell LDD drivers, that is the whole reason I went looking at the high res and different slopes. Will try sigmoid and see how I get on.

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
ok so i ran the code above today. Ramp up was good, apart from the 1st 3 or so steps you couldn't see the brightness stepping up, great! Come 9pm, I thought the tank still looked far too bright. Upon checking the controller I see all channels still at the end %. How come its not ramping down? I chan...

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
Awesome thanks! As you can tell, I'm pretty new to all this coding stuff. Really appreciate the help. In future, how's the best way to find out this stuff other than asking you guys? Is it in the libraries somewhere? Have had a look but can never find anything that makes sense to me.

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
Or would it be
Code: Select all
ReefAngel.PWM.SetChannelRaw(0, PMSmoothRampHighRes(13, 00, 22, 0, 2129, 120, 0));

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
Right, thank you. I thought there must be some other coding to do. So I do this for each channel and then code the dimming and timing as I was? Eg
Code: Select all
ReefAngel.PWM.SetChannel(0, PWMSmoothRampHighRes(13, 00, 22, 00, 0, 52, 120, 0));

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
OK just tried it again. It looks like its half working, as in, it increments a lot faster than PWMSlope to make it smooth, but the increments are still 1% each not 1 bit of 4095. I hope that makes sense.

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
By that I mean, when writing the code for the lights do I simply substitute PWMSlope for PWMSmoothRampHighRes, leaving all my byte values in the brackets alone? This is what I did, and it didn't work. Will try again today and see what I get.

Re: PWMSmoothRampHighRes
I'm using this http://nicegear.co.nz/electronics-gear/ ... e-pca9685/ which is 12 bit capable. Does it need to be coded differently or should it work 'out of the box'?

PWMSmoothRampHighRes
I see in the new libraries there's a heap of hi res dimming functions. I tried this in place of PWMSlope and it didn't work. Just cycled rather quickly from start to finish over and over.

Relay Expansion Code Issues
Hi, I've just tried to use the relay box expansion code and keep having an error when I compile. This happens even when I use some code generated by the wizard. Example: #include <ReefAngel_Features.h> #include <Globals.h> #include <RA_Wifi.h> #include <Wire.h> #include <OneWire.h> #include <Time.h>...

Re: Lights On override
Nevermind, I got it. This will set the dimming expansion channels to their end% when lights on mode is used. I have used my LED psu relay (Port 4) as the trigger, but you could use a virtual relay outlet tied to LightsOnPorts instead. Here is the code for anyone that may find it useful. Overriding t...
