Possible bad float switch
The float switch I was using as my ATO seems to have stopped working properly. I replaced it with the other and the ATO resumed normal function. I was wondering if there was a way to test if the switch was working properly or not since i have another use for the second switch?

Re: Sunrise/set by a location?
So i would need to add #include <SunLocation.h> with the other #include lines? I would add SunLocation sun; under ////// Place global variable code below here ? If this is correct, then this is where I am stuck. Not using Internal memory, I know the lines #define Mem_I_Latitude 108 #define Mem_I_Lon...

Re: Sunrise/set by a location?
Ahh, ok. No, the SunLocation class does not deal directly with memory you would have to do that part on your own. You'd then need to use the web api or "custom memory locations" support that some apps have. Here's some of the code you can find in my INO that will define the custom memory ...

My use of the word customize is changing the code outside of the wizard.lnevo wrote:Its in the libraries now. What did you want to customize?
Is the library set to a certain location? Can the location be changed?
What would I need to add and where do I add it?

Re: questions about connecting my lights
Roberto; I'm sorry. I thought I read in another thread that you have added that feature to the dimming ports on the relay. Sorry if I was wrong. I don't like giving out incorrect information. No worries. I'm just trying to figure out a way to get my lights working the way I want them as soon as pos...

Re: questions about connecting my lights
Ultimately I will get the dimming module as soon as funds become available. It just seems my coral are unhappy with the amount of light they are getting currently and the LDDs should provide more power per string.

Re: questions about connecting my lights
I bought the unit and installed it last week. It is brand new, not used. I don't know a lot about the electrical side of things, I have been told LDDs have 0-5v signal and the ELNs i currently have are 0-10v. I have no idea what would happen if the LDDs got 5.1-10v. And I am willing to change a jump...

Re: questions about connecting my lights
You can run multiple LDD drivers off of a single dimming port. It's not going to divide the dimming voltage in half. the drives will still get 1-10v. If you have a new dimming modules you can open it up and change the jumpers inside to be 0-5 rather than 0-10v I don't have a dimming port yet and am...

Re: questions about connecting my lights
That sounds correct. Assuming your parallel strings were identical, they would split the amperage 50/50. You'll end up with more brightness using the LDD's as you have described. You'll definitely need to acclimate. There's code around here somewhere that can do that automatically. --Colin If the o...

Re: pH probe giving bad readings
When i got home this evening, the probe had been in the sump for 10 hours or so and was solidly sitting at 8.2. I checked with the meter and still had the voltage registering about 14v. This seems to fluctuate a bit. I started unplugging things and the probe didn't fluctuate more than .01 the entire...

Re: pH probe giving bad readings
I don't know. I doubt that's your problem, as my probe is near my skimmer and doesn't have issues. When you're unplugging and testing, are you using a meter, or are you observing the pH reading? Try going by the pH reading only. Meters are iffy sometimes. Start unplugging things and see if the pH r...

It was suggested that bubbles, especially tiny bubbles coming from my skimmer which is a couple inches away could be giving bad readings, any truth to this?

Re: pH probe giving bad readings
The water completes a pathway between the display and the sump, so it could be in either one (or less likely, something in both). You unplugged all pumps, powerheads, heaters, and float switches? Everything in the tank and in the sump? --Colin I did. I only have 2 PHs in the DT and some of the thin...

Re: pH probe giving bad readings
Low pH readings are usually stray voltage in the tank. The pH probe completes the circuit to ground. Start unplugging stuff one at a time to narrow it down. A bad float switch can also cause this problem so don't forget about them. --Colin This is exactly what i did. I found nothing which took the ...

It settled right around 8.1 which is what it was reading initially and most of yesterday. When i turned the screen on today it was just sitting at 1.00 and didn't change at all. Re: pH probe giving bad readings
Testing this now. I did check with the multimeter to see if there was any voltage present in the cup, there is not any.
Could the voltage in the water cause it to give seemingly random readings?
I will post result of pH in cup shortly.

pH probe giving bad readings
So after installing the RA yesterday and calibrating the pH probe, I am getting fluctuations in the pH being reported. I have seen 1 and 11 to give you a feel for the fluctuations. I figured this could be to stray voltage, which there is stray voltage in my sump. 10v is what is showing on my multime...

This may seem like a dumb question but i can't find an answer to it. Do i set my heater to its highest setting? I assume this is what you would do but i don't know this for sure. Re: questions about connecting my lights
one last question. The ELN drivers one has i think 650 mA going to 2 parallel strings and the other was something like 1200 mA also to 2 parallel strings. If i use 1 650 ma LDD per string and 1 1000 mA LDD per the other strings, neither parallel, The LDDs will give more power to the strings of diode...
