Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

Did you try using the Daylight/Actinic PWM ports on the relay box if you have an older RA or a bigger stretch of a solution would be getting a STAR and using the builtin PWM on the unit and separating the lights from the pump. One on the dimming module and the other on the builtin Yes. I tried it b...

Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

TKS for sharing I would get the same problem. I would like to control a wavemaker and a DCT (or DCS) Pump on the same time. Well.. any news on it give us all a feedback, please Your welcome. It's been a few years since I messed with the controller, so I wouldn't hold your breath. It's on my list, b...

Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

Humm Look what I found: https://www.reefbreeders.com/shop/aqualink-a1-apex-adapter/ I have used that. It works, but sadly I couldn't get it to work without causing "bus locks" on the RA. I have some shielded cat 6 wire to try, but haven't gotten around to it. I only had bus locks when I h...

Never mind, temp probe is totally dead, all this would do is cause the RA to loop non stop.

So much for that:)

Help with Temp Probe Code

Long story short based on my thread here; http://forum.reefangel.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6441 My temp probe keeps dropping out to 0.0, I have placed an order to get more, but in the meantime can I add code that if it reads 0.0, to reboot itself? This would only be temporary. Last night I has to ...

Re: Temp Probe 0.0

Check if there is not any signs of corrosion on the port or connector. What happens if you unplug it and plug it again. Maybe in a different port. Ok, tried the above. When I plug then plug into a different port, no change until I reboot, then it stays ok for about an hour +or-, then drops out agai...

Damn, just did it again. Rebooting fixed it, but it's looking more like a band aid and not a solution.

Can we RMA temp probes if they're faulty? Mines only been running for about 6 months....

Temp Probe 0.0

Hey guys, haven't been on here in a while, things are just working and haven't had time to devote into doing new stuff anyway. Here's my issue that popped up today. I received a text from my RA saying sump temp was 0.0. Started freaking out because I know it had my heaters turned on, called my wife ...

Still having issues with this. Not 100% sure it's the DC pump. My lights sometimes come on, don't come on, come on half way, don't shut off. Re: Random Lights on With Dimming Module

Alright, I think my issue is again with my DCP pump. I believe it's causing interference with my led lights. Does anyone know a way to shield the cat 6 wire without making it look like crap? Some kind of electro magnetic shield? I love this pump, but it's driving me nuts.

Ok guys, it doesn't happen often. Has happened like 3 times since I incorporated the dimming module. Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

Finally had time to get this all worked out. I had to mount EVERYTHING to do with the DC pump away from EVERYTHING to do with the RA. Just to follow up with all this. I had a heck of a time getting the DC pump installed to where it didn't cause bus locks. I could not get it to work while running it from the dimming expansion. My LED lights are 0-5v PWM, where as the DC pump is 0-10v analog. The only thing that I didn't try was usi...

Re: Bus Locks and DC Pumps

Thought I would add, the DC pump is also about 12"-14" away from everything to do with the RA (although through a plywood wall), I have wifi, Rf, bluetooth, dimming module, and expansion hub. Maybe I can add some type of tinfoil wall (sounds cheap, I like cheap) in the sump to block any in...

Bus Locks and DC Pumps

I figured I would start a new thread, as it's really a seperate issue and might get more attention this way. My RA has worked flawlessly since it's 1st day a few months ago. I just bought a DC pump, specifically the DCP 10000 as a return pump, with an A1 controller. When I plug it in I get bus locks...

Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

That was short lived... So I played around some more last night / this morning. No matter what I do, having the DC Pump plugged in causes a bus lock. I have it plugged into a different circuit, and it still does it eventually, without the A1 controller. I don't know what's causing it. Is it too clos...

Well....I got around to finalizing all connections and plumbed in the pump. The reef angel had a seizure as soon as the pump came on. Roberto said they were "bus locks". It's definitely the A1 controller (or my wiring, although it worked brfore), as soon as I put the stock controller inste...

Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

I can confirm the reef angel connected to an A1 controller will control a DCP 10000. It is 0-10v analog, and you can see the pinout in the manual. It is pins 5 and 6 for speed. So I guess this means for anyone with DCT, DCS, or DCP pump you can now control it. I must say I was hesitant about buying ...

I think I have most of this figured out. Does anyone know if the signal is PWM or Analog? I've seen posts that its pwm, and then the A1 manual says analog??? Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

I had limited discussions with Eric from Fishstreet. I've attached a drawing for what I think I'm supposed to do. He said that 5 and 6 are for speed, 1 and 2 are for direction. I don't think we would worry about direction with a DC pump? So 1 and 2 are not needed? Another stupid question, is this 0-...

Re: DC Pumps that work with RA

I downloaded the manual from Fish Street for the DC controller, but his directions are backwards. The description says Channel 1 is flow, but the picture says channel 1 is direction. Does anyone know which is correct for the rj45 port? I'm assuming for a DC pump, we would only be interested in flow.
