Re: How do I Set the Date/Time

I was wondering the same thing. I'm pretty new to this all though.

Is it possible to have more than 3 temperature probes on a Reef Angel?

Re: Newb wifi setup issues

oooo, progress! Thank you Roberto and 805reefer! I used the link you listed, and checked to make sure I had the port forwarded correctly. I did not, I fixed that in my router settings, and it showed it open on the website. The portal is now showing 24.29.xxx.xxx:2000 as my IP, which is also what the...

Re: Newb wifi setup issues

That is the IP it says, yes. I'm pretty much stuck at this point. I tried the wifitestcode, and also tried the ReefAngel Wizzard to generate a code with wifi enabled. I get the slow green blink on the wifi attachment (and an orange blink when I try and load http://192.168.1.101:2000 on my web browse...

Re: Newb wifi setup issues

That you very much for the help. Does it look like I'm doing this right? I tried these settings, and then plug the wifi module into the reef angel with 'wifitestcode' installed. The wifi module will flash a quick yellow when I hit enter to try and access it's IP. Other than that I just get a slow gr...

Newb wifi setup issues

I recently purchased a reef angel and figured out how to connect it to the Arduino software and all. However, I can't get the wifi module to work. I tried the graphic wifi utility, but even downloading it was difficult, and then when I do use it, it doesn't look like it does on the 'wifi attachment ...

Re: Arduino on Linux

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! It worked! I now have to buy a RA and play around with it. Very excited to be able to use it on Linux. Go Binder!

Re: Development software for Linux

Thank you Curt! I'm going to try installing it tomorrow afternoon.

Edit: March 18th, 2013:
I finally got a Reef Angel and used these Linux directions/files, and it works perfectly. Thank you! I did use windows to setup the wifi, just because I was having trouble.

Re: RGB LED Control after the power supply

Thanks for the reply Drew an Steve. I checked out the thread you linked to, and looked into the Meanwell LPF drivers. I believe I may go that route for a future LED project. I'm still learning about this stuff, and didn't know what a 'driver' was until now, so that is a step in the right direction. ...

RGB LED Control after the power supply

I currently run about 1000 watts of RGB LED strips powered by two regular 500watt computer power supplies. Has anyone on here dimmed LED's by doing PWM between the power-supply and the LED? (rather than just sending PWM signal to a driver). My power supplies don't do dimming on their own.

Re: Development software for Linux

That is exciting news Curt. I am anxious to try and install it manually with directions. Our R&D guy gave me the go-ahead to purchase a RA with the stipulation that I get the development software to run on Linux first. I did get the Arduino IDE(0022) software installed today from the Software Ce...

Re: Development software for Linux

Thanks for all the responces everyone, you've got me really excited. I think this is the only reef-controller you can actually use with Linux. Inevo, having an install shell script would be great! I think there are a bunch of people like me who don't know how to install a program without it being a ...

Re: Development software for Linux

Curt / binder (or other Linux users), Could you post directions on how to install the Development Software on Ubuntu? I run Linux because I know it's good, but I do not know anything about how to do anything fancy with it. If you could take that into consideration that would be very helpful. Thank y...

Thank you for the quick reply. I will search the forum a bit to see if I can find directions on how to do that, and report back with either success or questions.

Development software for Linux

Hi,
I'm interested in purchasing some of these controllers for my fish farm. However, we only run Linux computers. Is the 'Reef Angel development software suite' available for Linux?
Thank you,
Scott Tomko
