Upgraded to RA+ board, screen has only 1 flashing line?

So I got my RA+ upgrade board, put it in, and from the start all I got on the screen was a single flashing line. I thought maybe it needed to be programmed with the right LCD code or something, so I put the program I was using on my RA on there, and there's no difference. Help! This is driving me nu...

Re: ATO timeout always set, doesn't turn on ATO relay

OK, so it's been ~ 1 week, and today I noticed the lights were not on at 12:28pm, so I checked the RA and the displayed time was 11:44 am.. A few minutes a week I can live with but 45 minutes is really throwing off my schedule. Is there something I can do that will help? If my board is bad, can I pa...

Re: ATO timeout always set, doesn't turn on ATO relay

OK so I was able to load the controller test software, and everything worked as it should. I had trouble reprogramming it, got some errors and eventually got it to program but it didn't finish clean. The ATO works again now, but I am concerned that maybe not everything got loaded? "avrdude: stk...

Re: ATO timeout always set, doesn't turn on ATO relay

Nah the 2 hour restriction isn't the problem; I just didn't want the thing cycling every time I put my hand in the tank or took a bit of water out to thaw some frozen food or something. The sump is only a 10g; the whole system right now is only ~20 gallons. The float would literally cycle on after t...

Re: ATO timeout always set, doesn't turn on ATO relay

Float switches work as normal, when the water is low and the bucket has water (4/5 gallons atm) the switches are all closed, and they open when I test them. The switches are plugged into the port to the middle of the RA unit.

Re: ATO timeout always set, doesn't turn on ATO relay

I have three float switches in series, the primary that holds the normal water level, a secondary as failsafe and the third is to switch off the pump when the bucket gets too low. Everything had been working normally for a long time, haven't changed the code or anything for a few months as I adjust ...

ATO timeout always set, doesn't turn on ATO relay

So the last week or so I've noticed my RA always has the ATO timeout set, so I clear the timeout and reset the RA, but it doesn't turn on the ATO relay. (Relay 1 doesn't go green, pump doesn't come on). I plugged the ATO pump into a power bar and fill the tank that way but what's wrong with my RA? I...

Re: JEBO WP-40

Between the WP40's 0-5V signal output and the motor, it would retain the original function but you can reduce the flow. Just a cheap way to make these adjustable output without changing power supplies or using a controller like RA.

Re: JEBO WP-40

Roberto, could you do me a favor and measure the current draw on the 0-5V line of the WP40; I am thinking a simple mod for the basic pump would be to put a potentiometer between the stock controller and the pump itself, but to know the required resistance, I need to know the current draw.

Re: Need coding help

A work around would do just fine, and all I need to be able to change is the end of slope, I am upping the intensity by 1% a week and it's already getting old reprogramming it every week.

Need coding help

What I want to do is use the variable from the menu setting for PWM as the max value in the ReefAngel.PWM.SetDaylight( PWMSlope(13,0,22,05,11,20,20,11) ); ReefAngel.PWM.SetActinic( PWMSlope(12,10,22,45,11,30,30,11) ); functions.. as in: ReefAngel.PWM.SetDaylight( PWMSlope(13,0,22,05,11,menu_var1,men...

Re: Low Ph Probe Reading

I am having the same problem as the OP - I bought my RA around the same time as well, but only just got around to connecting and calibrating the pH probe last night.. It seemed to read OK last night, had a reading of 7.6 pretty steady through the night. This seemed low but within reason considering ...

Re: unit randomly resetting

I've had this exact same problem myself - date/time goes bonkers randomly. Usually seems to do something irritating like go to date 62/15/2032 and time resets to 12:00 (thus running my doser) while the lights maybe go off, maybe not and the PWM either goes to 100, stays where it should be at the act...

RA randomly changing time to 12 am

Like the title says my RA will randomly decide it's midnight - it did it today at like 5:25 PM or so. So the lights go off the doser pump goes on and the ATS goes on... Rebooting fixes it, strangely. So far it seems to do this every couple of days. I am unsure if it ever fixes itself or goes the oth...

Re: Temperature sensors - DS18B20

Thanks again, rimai - that's certainly what I thought based on the product page. What I meant by one wire configuration is using the sensor in parasitic mode where only two wires are run to the sensor (power is fed on the data line). based on the time of your post, I'd guess you didn't see my edit, ...

Re: Temperature sensors - DS18B20

Make sure you reboot the controller to pick up the new sensor. It only scans the OneWire bus at boot. Ah, thanks! I will try that - is the one-wire configuration known to work with the RA? Also, it's a bit off topic, but the temp sensor that came with my RA is reading 94 F - and there's just no way...

Temperature sensors - DS18B20

So I got some temp sensor chips, DS18B20, to integrate into my LED fixtures. I was testing a couple with the Reef Angel but it doesn't seem to recognize them. I looked up the pinout on the schematic (and checked with a meter) and tried several chips. Originally I wanted to use them in a two-wire con...

Well, the actual on/off hours don't matter to me as long as it gets the right timing... I could always keep my current timer for that anyways.

Re: Reef Angel Wizard

Not sure if this is the place for it, but I'd like to be able to set a timer function for my algae scrubber that runs twice a day. I normally run this equipment for 6 hours on and 6 hours off. I just got my RA and for now I am attempting to program a wavemaker port to run for 21600 seconds every 720...
