Re: Meanwell "D" analog with PWM RA
Yes, the dimming will not be linear, but it will still dim. The revision 8.1 is the only one that has such jumpers. and if I open the outlet box and see those jumpers will it work that I can have 1 channel analog and 1 PWM by pulling just one of the jumpers? I assume there is no way to know which r...

Re: unit randomly resetting
well finally got time to #1 reread this post (DOH) and #2 play around with the RA.. I pulled the SCL/SDA jumpers and the resetting has stopped completely and my time is running perfectly (was running too fast).. I gave it a week just to test after pulling the jumpers and have no problems at all now....

Meanwell "D" analog with PWM RA
Anyone fed the dimming port of a meanwell (ELN-60-48D) with the PWM signal from the RA? (ordered the PWM version of RA) Does it work? (Think I read it will but the dimming won't be linear) I've got the daylights on PWM dimmable drivers but am trying to use my old drivers for the actinic.. Also I rea...

Re: unit randomly resetting
I think it is inductive spike from your wm pumps. Did you try putting them in always on or disconnecting them? It is definitely a watchdog reset. My wavemaker pumps have been unplugged since last night because I thought that was it too and just sitting here for the last 30 minutes it has reset 2 ti...

Re: unit randomly resetting
I put snap on ferrites on the temp/ato/serial cables (1 wrap around the core each) and its still resetting. I thought it might be something with the wavemaker ports because it seemed last night to relate to when the wavemaker was switching on but now I'm not so sure as now its been turning off the d...

Re: PH 7.95...no probe?
Guess I should have just looked at the schematic.. I loaded Eagle last night but never opened the RA files.. (What a crappy program btw I don't know how anyone uses it.. or recommends it)

PH 7.95...no probe?
No PH probe plugged in yet PH still reads 7.95... (Which is what it said a few minutes ago before I unplugged the probe) ??

Re: unit randomly resetting
yeah - well my RA cable does have it, and I will be sure that future cables have it to. In my case, the ferrite that is on the cables that shipped with my RA apparently arent good enough :) Interesting.. Mine does not have one on it. I just got a new RA main board and its still having reset issues ...

Re: unit randomly resetting
so, new testing results... with my old VGA cable removed and a junk box cable installed the resetting stopped - but the cables I found around the house don't seem to be high enough quality to have all 15 wires connected (as my relay box doesnt seem to be responding on all the relays).... next step ...

Re: unit randomly resetting
I wonder how many issues/potential issues would be cleared up if RA included a serial cable with ferrite bead installed on it instead of the cheapest one out there. Seems there is a clear issue with interference. Time to head to the junk box and find something.. I just got a new board in the mail ho...

Re: Led pendant stays on dim
marc, You sure its not a problem with your LED drivers? (leakage current/capacitance) Just plug them into a wall for a bit and then unplug them and see if it still does it. Maybe there are just some capacitors on the output that take a few minutes to drain thus keeping the LED's on for a little bit ...

Re: unit randomly resetting
Mine is doing this EXACT same thing too.. four times times this week so far. seems to be totally random times when it does it.. no expansion modules at all just the cheapest RA w/pwm system. no MH lighting either The time is also still running a minute or so a day fast still (another post I had).. A...

Re: Time running fast
A few SMT ferrite beads, and other little tweaks, etc.. here and there is only going to add "pennies" if that to the total cost.
Proper filtering/design is what makes it a "professional" product.. NOT an expensive one.

Re: Time running fast
I moved the AC power cords away from the serial cable/head unit and now the time seems to be running properly.. Seems you guys need a little better filtering (or filtering in general..I bet there is nothing).. I also noticed I can move the power cords near the PH probe cable and the reading drops to...

Alternate wavemaker
Is the preloaded code supposed to alternate the wavemaker ports? (i.e. when one is on the other is off and you have them both set for the same time)
Mine doesn't and I would like it to.

Screen Black/Flickering
Just went over to the RA to mess with the settings and the screen was black/scrambled and would flicker (horizontal colored lines) when I moved the joystick. Just had to unplug the serial cable and plugged it back in and it went away. Also notice that the time/date reset after I unplugged the serial...

Re: Time running fast
Heres what I used when I had an aqualifter.. You can change the port and also the time which I had at 1200 cause the aqualifter took forever ReefAngel.SingleATO( true,Port2,1200,0 ); yeah I might just switch to the singleATO setup.. Does setting the 1200 there actually allow the ato set screen to g...

Re: Time running fast
yes the time/date was the first thing I setup..
I just changed it again and we will see what happens.
One more question.. Where in the code do I find the ATO set time range.. 255 seconds is not enough.. I'm using an aqualifter pump for ATO.

Time running fast
Had it hooked up for 3 days and the clock is already 5 minutes off ??? Its running too fast.
Can something in the code be adjusted to account for this?
