Re: Multiple reboots uncalled reboots in the past days
I was able to do more testing to see if I could find out the buslock issues occurring recently. I replaced the expansion hubs with new ones. I have an RF expansion, dimming expansion, star relay expansion, plus relay expansion, pH expansion, salinity expansion. Setup A Star-->Exp Hub1-->star relay e...

Re: Multiple reboots uncalled reboots in the past days
I connected a second expansion hub to the main unit to shorten the usb cable length to some modules. The main unit is behaving better now. Seems I still have some bus lock issues through one of the expansion hubs. These bus locks get cleared by the main unit on its own, and the main unit isn't rando...

Re: Multiple reboots uncalled reboots in the past days
I check the controller externally but didn't see any rust on the main unit. The main cause of the reboots seem to be coming from the expansion hub. I disconnected some ports and reconnected until I was able to get all of the modules running. There are still some reboots occurring but a lot less ofte...

Re: Multiple reboots uncalled reboots in the past days
Hi Roberto,
I keep head unit away from the tank and sump, but I'll take the unit apart this weekend to see if I have any rust or water damage.
Thanks,
Tim

Multiple reboots uncalled reboots in the past days
Hi all, I'm getting multiple untriggered reboots in a day, sometimes every 3 to 4 minutes. It'll be stable for long maybe half a day then cycle through a bunch of reboots. This started happen last week. I hadn't changed anything to the unit so was wondering if anyone was encountering random multiple...

Thanks Roberto. For some reason the drivers became out of sync with the addon. Resynced all the drivers and it's working now.

RF module and Ecotech driver strange behavior
Recently I am having an issue changing the Ecotech MP40 modes. When changing through different modes the LED on the Ecotech drivers no longer match the LED on the RF addon. The modes are changing on the Ecotech drivers when changing them through the uapp or the phone apps, but they aren't matching u...

Re: 2nd Dimming Expansion Module
Hey Roberto, Has the 2nd dimming expansion module been implemented into the libraries? I wanted to connect and test a new light fixture using a second dimming module. Thanks, Tim Actually,I just remember that you also have to change the ID of the 2nd expansion module. Open the module and place a jum...

Re: Bus Lock - RA*
Yeah I was paranoid of having a buslock happening during dosing or topping off which would be disastrous. I ended up using some time delay relays for the dosing pumps and ato that are connected to the RA* but will shut off after a set time even if there is a buslock. For the non critical devices and...

Re: RF Expansion Module
Was there a Vortech setup for the RA*? I ended up just using the setup() portion written for the RA+ to get the RF module to blink green/blue. Then once paired with the vortechs I just uploaded the normal running code. Not very elegant but I think it's paired?

Strange Issue with RA*
Last night my RA* led was blinking red and green which normally means a buslock occurred but when I try to reset the RA the blinking didn't stop. Unplugging the RA and plugging it back in didn't reset it. It was a slow blink followed by two faster blinks. Unplugging all the modules didn't solve the ...

Dosing pump accuracy and preventing overdosing
How often would the dosing pump require calibration and how accurate are they? I was thinking about adding dosing pumps but I'm always concerned that a relay could get stuck to the on position and poof there goes the tank. Is there a separate timer or relay that I could add independent of the RA to ...

Hi All, Just wanted to present a quick run down of my impressions of the ReefAngel*. I had a ReefAngel+ previously so initially I didn't want to make a jump to a next gen but my PH probe was failing and a couple of temp probes needed to be replace. The new RA* is pretty nice, especially if you don't...

Re: Bus Lock Issues
I replaced the expansion hub and all the bus lock issues are gone, well at least for the last 12hrs. It seems the corrosion in the usb female connectors caused the bus lock between the relay and the head unit. I am going to get some silicone usb cover caps to insert into the unused usb connectors to...

Re: Bus Lock Issues
I connected the relay expansion directly to the head unit and the bus lock didn't occur. Even with two relays connected to the head unit there was no bus lock. The bus lock only occurs if any relays are connected to the expansion hub. However the dimming expansion won't cause a bus lock when it is c...

Re: Bus Lock Issues
The corrosion is more apparent on the expansion hub. On the relay expansion there isn't too much. I have switched to different ports on the hub but same issues. I'll see if changing the cables will offer better results. Would there be any issues relating to the vga cable the connects the relay expan...
