Re: How to setup your wifi attachment

I am unable to to get an IP address on the Wi-Fi attatchment. It looks like the same issue as above where I get an IP address of 0.0.0.0:2000, Associated: True, Athenticated: true, DHCP: false, Mode: WPA2.

I made sure that the encryption is set to WPA2 PSK AES on my router. I tried to use the Tera Term too but the terminal does will not display any information from the Wifi Attatchment. Can you please assist me? Thanks

When using tera term, you need to type $$$ within 1s to enter into config mode, did you do that?
Just to make sure, you do have DHCP enabled in your router, correct?

Looks like I need to find a copy of the wifi test script, it's not in my install where the walkthrough says it is. Is there a copy I could download?

Try downloading the new installer and install the software again.

That's mismatched libraries with the new Arduino IDE.
To clean up your system and have everything fresh, make sure to uninstall any previous version of the RA installer. Then delete the Arduino folder inside Documents folder.
Install the new one.

Ok, it finally uploaded, and now my RA screen reads:

No internal memory found.

Good!!!
You are in the right path :)
Now, all you need to do is load an internal memory file and you should be good to go :)
Go to menu “File->Sketchbook->Example Codes” and select “InitialInternalMemory”

Hmm so that means I shouldn't have pulled it all apart and unscrewed it from the wall... :(

In any case, it's starting to appear as if everything got deleted. I did that step, and now it told me I could upload an INO file. So I went to the backup I made (instead of deleting) the old one I was running before, and it won't compile, I assume because the new libraries don't match since I reinstalled everything.

Hmm...

I'm trying to reset my wifi adapter and i'm having trouble doing it, i tried the new app for setting wifi and i get the false statement on blue led blinks, i tried the older utility and i get this:

CMD
set w a 4
AOK
<2.32> set w p xxxxxxx
AOK
<2.32> set w s xxxxxx
AOK
<2.32> set i l 2000
AOK
<2.32> save
Storing in config
*BAD CONFIG*
<2.32> reboot

*Reboot*

What should i do?? i Know is not my router cause it was working this morning, i was just trying to set with the new utility to see if i lose connection less often.

Both SSID and password is case sensitive.
I also recommend WPA2-PSK with AES encryption.
I've seen some of the other security options giving problems in the past.
Also, does either the SSID or password have a space in it?

No, it does not need to be plugged into the computer.
Try replacing the space with a $ sign.

How do I upload the wifi test code to the reef angel?

I have a 6 pin usb/ttl cable but the input on the reef angel is 8 pin?

I also have a ttl cable that is 6 pin female on one side and 8 pin female on the other?

thanks

The USB-TTL cable can be used to upload codes to RA and also to setup the wifi attachment.
The 6pin-8pin is to be used when you want to connect RA to the wifi attachment.
Black wire is always to the right-most pin. Please check the manual for instructions on how to connect.

Hi there,

With the 2nd type of connection, will it work if there is no passphrase? I am not sure why it would but it does nothing once I click "setup wifi attachment" just leaves black. I have talked to my master (father) and it is all to hard to put one on to try

I am getting to this point and then nothing. :?:

Hey roberto,

The wifi attachment will work if you have no password you just need to put a space in the box.

If you have a green blinking light then it should be good. Check in your router and see what ip address was assigned.
