12v Power control expansion- wizard

Post by cody.sheridan-2008 »

Hey all,

Just got some bits, was wondering how I connect the power control expansion and use the wizard with it? I am wanting to control some 12v solenoids (with a couple float switches) and peri pumps with it.

cheers

Just check the relay expansion box in the wizard. Then you can assign the ports any way you want in the wizard

Yeah the power control module works just light a relay expansion unit.

Another quick one.

I am doing a automatic rotifer culturing apparatus atm. The idea is to have 2 containers, one of which has 2 float switches (high and low) and another has 1 (high) am I able to program, with the wizard all 3 switches to control 3 different ports?

Do you have the I/O module?
The base system only has 2 ports for float switches.

nope, but will get one.

Was just looking in the wizard and couldn't figure out how to do it with more than 2 (even when I selected the I/O unit) I'll have another look.

Not with the wizard, but it is pretty simple code.
Can you explain in more details what you want?

I am making an automatic rotifer culturing system. The reason for using solenoids is so I don't have to listen to peri pumps for extended periods. I will be using salt water compatible ones too. I think I only need 2 floats too.

How hard would the following be to achieve?

Step 1 - Peristaltic pump pumps 2/3 rots to top container

Image

Step 2 - Solenoid releases remaining 1/3 rots to holding container

Image

Step 3 - Solenoid releases Mains pressure water to clean main container (high level float switch trips).

Image

Step 4 - Solenoid releases to drain container (NOTE: steps 3/4 might be repeated if 1 wash didn't work)

Image

Step 5 - Solenoid releases to fill rotifer tank with salt water (float switch triggers when at correct level).

Image

Step 6 - Solenoid releases to drain top container to bottom.

If the 2/3 doesn't need to be precise, you can just figure out how long it takes to pump 2/3 and you should be able to it just fine.
What do you do with the contents of the holding container?
Keep in mind that these solenoid valves need to be valves without diafragma because they need to work with virtually zero PSI, except for the main water pressure solenoid.
