Computer Crash - How to get code from Controller?

Post by Paul_Velasco »

So my old computer decided to crash on me and I lost my code for the Controller. No way to get the code back or the computer. Yeah, did not back up anything - I am not computer savvy or planner for failures.

Is there a remote possibility to get the code off the controller?
I have to reload the Ardunio app from scratch onto my new computer.

No way. It's like trying to un-bake a cake.

Depending on what crashed on your computer, you might still be able to recover the files on your hard drive. If windows decided to stop booting, the files are still there. If you have a tech friend they could possibly pull your files off of your computer so you will still have them.

Sidenote: Once you get your files back and code back for your controller, I would suggest posting it on the forum as a "backup" of your code. Lots of people are doing that for that specific reason.

I do it and had to pull my code off the forum just last week.
I was having problems with my computer and in the heat of things and not really thinking about it I did a system restore to factory settings of the Restore partition.

I pulled my code off the forum updated a couple of things and was back up and running in now time.

I keep all my code on OneDrive. Dropbox or Google Drive should work fine too.

Also, here's a post you made on January 15th with your code...

Although you may have to reapply whatever fixes you had.

Make a github account and put ur code on github in a new repository. Then you can even see version control for it. You can also fork the reefangel/libraries code and play with it.
