I have 3 temp probes attached to the controller. All the probes were working well and the temperature was displayed on the controller. Recently the controller displays 0 for all the three probes. I tried switching the probe attachments to the controller. It seems to work for a while and then displays 0 again. I noticed one of the probes in the display tank had the metal covering peeling off. I have since disconnected this probe from the controller. Over the last 24 hours the temperature for the 2 other probes is displaed on the controller. Could a defective temp probe affect the readings of the other probes?

I would think so. They're all on the same bus so a short could be killing power for all 3.
