pH probe issue?

Post by 89delta »

I recently bought a new pH probe. After calibrating it my readings were between 8.2-8.42. After getting home from work my pH was at 9.46 and has climbed to 10.46-10.51.... I recalibrated it again, still same reading....Is my probe shot?

I figured it out fellas...I shoulda checked everything....and I mean everything first. The pump for my skimmer is leaking 1.8v AC into the tank causing the probe to go nuts. After turning it off the readings are fine again. Time to invest in a ground probe for the tank.

Better to invest in a new skimmer pump

Eshopps? My original came with an Atman pump that leaked voltage and I upgraded to the Sicce one. Big difference in quality and my ph stays stable now.

I currently have a ground probe in my tank and it did not help the issue when I had a faulty float switch.
