RA+ WiFi internet traffic?

Post by Smotz »

'Lo all.

I just put on some parental controls on my internet and I discovered lots of traffic from my RA WiFi - in a day it accumulated 640MB of traffic.

I haven't figured out how much of that is up vs. down.

Can someone advise why this is?

Do you have it contacting the portal? If so, my guess is every 5 minutes or whatever the timer is uploads your data to the reef angel portal. Depending on what sort of information you have with your set up I'd wager that could eat that up rather quickly. So what is that, 288 calls roughly if I'm thinking correctly?

Yes I do. Didn't think it was that much information.

How do you have your configured? Is there another way?

I've honestly never looked to see how much mine sends but will try that later today and see what it yields.

As far as it is configured, it is default and not sure if one can limit. I know there is a portal and has some tabs below with regards to dash board, banners, labels, etc. That probably makes most of it but to me it seems a pretty basic template that gets filled out and sent. Like I mentioned I've not really looked at it in depth. Just know it is sending data every x amount of time so believe that is why you saw what you did.
