Reset PH values to default?

Post by Poiromaniax »

Hi guys,

I have recently noticed my ph probe is reading extremely low readings. like 4

When i put it in the 7 solution, the value goes down to zero and stays there. When i put in 10 solution it goes up to 100 and something.

Is there a way to reset the values to default (think its around the 400 mark) and then calibrate from there?

Or is my PH probe starting to say its goodbyes? (Ive had it for about 3 years or so)

RIP probe :(

You need to get calibration fluid and retry the calibration, but most likely it's toast especially after 3 years.

I do have the fluid but as I say it just bottoms out to 0.

Oh well - 3 years is a good run

Sorry didn't realize you were giving the calibration values. Yeah probe is definitely shot :) 3 years is definitely a good run. I went through 3 in my first two years. The last one has been going strong at least 1.5 now.

Out of interest - would one be able to use any PH probe with a BNC connection? or does it need to be the RA one?

Pretty much any one. Make sure they're waterproof (not all are, especially the super cheap ones).

The RA one is actually a nice balance of price and quality. Any of the less expensive probes will go out in a year or so.

After changing it a couple of times, i bought the lab grade from neptune and its been running strong. Used the pinpoint and a brs one as well.
