Temp Overheat

Post by Ismaclst »

I came home today to see that my controller was in fault because it went into temp overheat. This is the second time this has done this in the past couple weeks. I cleared the fault and the port came back on like it should. I checked the web chart to see when it overheated but at the supposed time it did it was not over my overheat temp. My overheat temp is 80 and the hottest it went was 78.6. What could be the issue?

I also have an ongoing problem with my ph. The first ph probe that I used worked for a short time then it was reading low, like around 4. Then it went all the way down to 1, so I thought it was bad and replaced it. The second worked fine for about two weeks until it started to do the same as the first. It's not a voltage leak because I placed it in a separate glass of water and it still read 1.

Could it be the temp probe?

Could be. Would a bad temp probe affect the pH probe? It appears to work right all the time.

It went into overheat again early this morning. Now I'm at work and can't clear the fault...

Do you have the Android app? You can clear it from there.

I do but my port forwarding is not working. I had it set up once but for some reason it doesn't work anymore.

Checked to see if it was faulted this morning and it was. This problem is becoming more frequent. Any other ideas what could be causing this?

I would start with changing the temp probe. Make sure all connections are tight. See if jiggling the connecters causes any issues

I did replace the temp probe early this morning, so we will see if that helps. I checked the connections and all seems fine. I still don't understand what is going on with my PH probe. Right now it is reading 5.3. Later it will drop down to 1 them back up again. The only time it read right was when I first calibrated it. Now it never gets higher then in the fives.

Probe is either getting stray voltage or its shot. How old is the probe?

I placed the probe in a glass of water and it didn't change. It's maybe a month old.

Do you recall the numbers you got from the calibration?

Not off hand. I can recalibrate to see.

Yes, it did. The first time I calibrated it, it acted the same way. It took about a month or so then it started to drop until it reached one. Could it be that it's just a cheap pH probe?

At the moment, yes. But it's already going down. It staarted at 7.47 and now it's 6.99 and dropping.

I guess it's what I get for buying a real inexpensive probe.
