port forwarding issues
I think we may need to confirm your wifi module settings via serial...I'll wait for Roberto with the commands...but your wifi module isnt on the network based on what I am seeing...
Just curious though, can you disconnect the wifi module and retry the ping? I still feel like there is an ip,conflict...maybe wait a few minutes after disconnect...
Also can you try pinging other devices in your "my network" screen from the router and your laptop and see what the results look like?

port forwarding issues
Can you ping the laptops ok from the desktop / router and vice-versa? At this point just sounds like something didn't configure properly with the module. I would look to reset it to factory and start again.

Agree with this. If you can ping everything else now except the module we need to start from factory with itlnevo wrote:Can you ping the laptops ok from the desktop / router and vice-versa? I agree. I think you need to reset the wifi module to factory settings. Also find out what version of software your running on the wifi module as well.
Re: port forwarding issues
ok i can only ping devices for my desktop. when tring to ping my destop from my laptop it tells me request timed out. i cant ping the wifi module form any device i get unreachable host
port forwarding issues
Ok...you may have a firewall running on your desktop preventing other machines from pinging it. I still think we should reset the wifi module and reconfig. Also dump the settings through hyper terminal with "get e" I believe... If you can't ping the wifi module from desktop or router then it's not staying on the network. You may need to try that beta firmware too, but I don't think we are at that point yet...

Re: port forwarding issues
Under the advanced setting on the verizon router, you can setup Dynamic DNS. You can add the no-ip.com acount info and the router will update the address.
I'm not sure how no-ip.com works, but wiht dyn-dyns your account name is your dns name...
So for me, I have easte.dyndns.org and I put my account info into the router. The router updates dyndns anytime the external IP changes. And in my iPhone I pount to easte.dyndns.org port 2000 for my ReefAngel and it connects back to my router.
It should be fairly straight forward. The only problem is for dyndns I have a grandfathered free account so I have the client also running on my computer to make sure it logs more frequently otherwise I lose my account if not updated every 30 days...

Re: port forwarding issues
No-ip works the same way except for deleting of the account..Lol
You need your server www.no-ip.com
hostname you picked
username
password
And thats about it.

Re: port forwarding issues
I think dyndns.com has free accouts, so you don't have to pay for basic stuff like dynamic DNS.
I use Dyndns and there is no need to setup anything in the router even. I just use a small program that update dyndns on regular basis with my current ip and voilà.

Strangly they say that no-ip is free on their web page??
