Can't get it to work. I think it has to do with the address. I think I need a page on the camera that I don't know the name of.

Here's what the manual says:

For Java mode: http://camera_ip_address/tvjview.htm
For ActiveX mode: http://camera_ip_address/tvaview.htm

Either of these compatable?

Looking at your other post:

I wish my camera had a streaming view without buttons like yours :(

Depends on your browser? Java *should* be x-platform...

Is it a dlink..for embedding you may have to use the static image.

OK, got it Roberto. I thought I had tried that. It's working. However, the image is a little too big and has scroll bars. Any way to fix that?

Thanks again. This is awesome!

Yeah, mine is dlink and actually uses the same java applet as cosmith71....

Code: Select all

<applet name="cvcs" codeBase="http://cosmith71.no-ip.net:8080" archive="aplug.jar" code="aplug.class" width=640 height=480>
<param name="RemotePort" value=8080>
<param name="Timeout" value=5000>
<param name="RotateAngle" value=0>
<param name="PreviewFrameRate" value=2>
<param name="Algorithm" value=2>
<param name="DeviceSerialNo" value="">
</applet>
I wonder if all cameras can use this applet... :?:

Mine isn't a dlink, it's a TrendNet. Would be nice if it's universal.

For the dlink i have a html wrapper that loads the static image and refreshes every 2 seconds. I can share the code if anyone needs it, but you need a place to host it..

You might as well use the java applet in your wrapper instead of 2sec refresh...

Thought I had replied...

Portal is working fine for me.

Had to do some playing around with the size to get rid of the scroll bars. I ended up at 654x504 for 640x480 (supposedly) image. Any less on either number and I get both scroll bars. I'm guessing it adjusts the numbers you put in for aspect?

This particular camera doesn't have a pan function on it. It has a digital zoom, but I haven't really used it.

I used a flexible suction mount.

Thanks for the links, Lee. I totally missed that thread. I'll look into a fisheye lens, too.

I'm looking at the D-Link DCS-900 Web Cam that lnevo said he is using.
I wanted to know a good, preferably free dynamic DNS service.
I think someone mentioned No-IP.com

Yes, no-ip.com is a good, free dynamic dns service. I use it along with dyn.com (DynDns) but they are making it more difficult for the "free accounts" to exist. I would use no-ip.com if it were me.
