Portal/ android/ Apple app internal memory

Post by pandimus »

When changing the internal memory setting on anything I am getting no response.is there a setting somewhere to disallow this? I cannot change my pwm settings on the controller or expansion.

What do you mean as no response?
Does it fail to connect?

No,I don't get any errors, it just does not update the controller.if I change actinic, in internal memory for instance on portal.it shows in the internal memory setting a new value, but you look on the dash board or controller the setting has not changed.

Is your code using internal memory settings?
You must generate the code with the wizard and choose internal memory settings.

If you are using internal memory in your code (like roberto asked), then you can check on this.
If you are using the android app and libraries later than 1.0 (if it's a recent install, then you probably are), make sure that the "Pre 1.0. Locations" is unchecked under the Settings page. This will get it to use the correct memory locations.

Now that i went to internal memory, i notice a few problems. My wifi, is starting to get the random disconnect/not connect problems, and my relays controlling tempature related items are no longer working.. They will show on/off, but they are always off. manually turning them on/off does nothing.

Are you sure you set the internal memory correctly?
What happens if you use the ControllerTester code?
File->Sketchbook->Example Codes

i finally had a chance to do this. with the test code, port one (heater), does not work. Port three(fan), does work. interesting to note though, i had a light hooked up to port one while uploading the code, and port one came on for one second then shut off... I'm assuming that would be a bad relay correct? is that an easy fix? I can solder.

new development on this.... it is apparently a bad monitor cable. Accidentally moved it, while messing with stuff and port came on.. sorry for the goose chase.

It's there a special cable you have to use? I plugged in a standard monitor cable..brand new..and the relay stayed making a high pitched squeel
