Isuues with Conection Status
Isuues with Conection Status
i recently have been having issues with the connection status on the portal- it says unreachable address
what is strange is that everything seems to be updated, i can see my relay activity and all
i just can't use the controls ? i reenter my WiFi address wich is 132.168.xxx.xxx:2000 and after a few reloads of the page it changes to 174.93.xxx.xxx:2000
any ideas what is happening ?

Re: Isuues with Conection Status
Yes. Your ip forwarding is not working. The ip that the portal is getting is the correct one. Thats the ip the portal is getting information from when your RA sends outgoing information (port forwarding not required for that) but to control from outside you need to make sure the port forwarding is setup properly since thats incoming traffic to your network and is currently secured.
Re: Isuues with Conection Status
ok , not sure how to set it up then.... my router is running DD-WRT Firmware, this is what i have it set up as
Port Forward
Forwards
Application Port from Protocol IP Address Port to Enable
Reef angel 2000 both 192.168.1.133 2000 X
do you think it might be because i am forwarding from 2000 and to 2000

Re: Isuues with Conection Status
from 2000 to 2000 is the correct setting.
Does it show port open when you check?
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/
If everything is configured correctly, you must see port open.
Also, make sure your wifi atatchment is using 192.168.1.133 ip address.
When routers reboot, they tend to change ip address assignment unless you created a dhcp reservation in the router.

Re: Isuues with Conection Status
Make sure the rule is enabled..sometimes theres a toggle to have it active.
Also its wierd what you said was your wan ip and what the portal has...just curious if your in a large apt complex or something similar where there may be another layer between you and the internet.
Can you check www.whatsmyip.org and see if its what you expect or what the portal is seeing.
Its possible there may be another port forward required somewhere. You may need to check your provider too.
Not saying its one or the other but checking all the possibilities.

Re: Isuues with Conection Status
That could be it too. Do you have 2 routers? One is the internet provider supplied and another is wifi?

no I'm not n a large apartment complex..single home
when i check on whats my ip address i i get exactly what the portal is seeing : 174.93.178.213...i guess the other layer could be the second router which is the internet provider...what should i do ?
Isuues with Conection Status
You need port forwarding on both
The outside router will forward 2000 to the inside router
I have the exact same setup.

Re: Isuues with Conection Status
makes sense, im am trying it asks me for a rule ie http, https pop3, imap..what should i use also what shoud be my host ip adress should i put my wifi adress or my other router
Re: Isuues with Conection Status
The wan ip of the other router. There should be a custom or advanced then you'll need to put the ports in like you did on the other one.
