It is all done in the router configuration.
Each router has its own way.

Again, apologies for my ignorence.
I understand that, but is the 192.xxx.xx.x:2000 not the ip address assigned to my RA wifi attachment by my router?
Thats the address I got in the wifi attachment setup process, so do i have to connect my wifi attachment to my laptop again?

I don't know.
The only way to find out for sure is to login to your router and check which one the router really gave to your wifi attachment if this ip address is not working anymore.

Okay, I am logged in to my router, DHCP server is on, would that equate to a dhcp reservation?

They should be a list of attached devices where each device has an ip address.

There you go.
Each router has its own way of naming things.
Your router calls it connected devices.
I can't possibly know what all routers are gonna call everything and how to set it up. Sorry.
We use port 2000, so source and destination port is the same 2000.The destination ip address is the exact thing that you are trying to find out: The wifi attachment ip address.
Another user wrote a little tutorial for his particular router that may help you.
http://forum.reefangel.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1190
You can also search in the internet on how to do it in your particular router or call your internet provider/router manufacturer.
There is also a software that automates simple key pushes that I've heard works pretty good:

Thank you for all your assistance, I know it must be annoying to deal with us less clever folk...I seem to be getting somewhere. The portal seems to be refreshing on a regular basis. I have entered the ip address into my iphone app but still no luck there, but it will have to wait until I rob a bank and buy the cloud wifi attachment.

Are you using the internal ip address in your phone?
Is your phone connected to your wifi network?
It's the one you said you found it a couple posts back.
What happens when you browse to http://ipaddress:2000 in your phone?

Added my iPhone as a MAC device after joining the wifi, disabling MAC, then enabling it again.
App wirks, but when I leave the wifi network and use norml 3g instead of the wifi the app stops working

Yeap. That's what I told you about being outside your wifi network.
Your router will treat you as unsafe.
The only way to make your connection go through is to let your router know that you are friendly.
This is done with port forwarding.
Once you are on 3G, you don't have access to the internal ip address anymore.
You can only access your public ip address, which is the one shown in the portal.
So, assuming you setup port forwarding on your router, once you go into 3G, you need to use the ip address shown in the portal.

No. Port forwarding is only for your wifi attachment.
It's meant to forward requests coming into port 2000 to your wifi attachment.
You don't need the iphone ip address.
When you go into 3G, you must use the external ip address shown in the portal on the browser or app in order to connect instead of your internal ip address.
Your phone does not have access to internal ip address when on 3G. It's a public network and not your wifi network.

Guess I'll have to buy a little netbook, keep it logged in to the wifi network and dial in via teamviewer should I want to make switch off any ports

It seems like its a setting with the APN on my router, set by the service provider and to change it (unrestrict it) i need to apply to them.
