Portal issue
Portal issue
I've setup my wifi adapter like the manual said. I can control my RA via phone app when on my wifi, not on 3G. The web app works. I've gone through the tutorial for setting up the portal, set-up a no-ip account. I've gone through the guides on port-forwarding to set a static ip and forward my port to 2000. How do I get the phone app and portal to work?

Re: Portal issue
make sure you don't have a second firewall, some cable/dsl modems have built in firewalls that will block the connection even if you opened it on your router.
Check out: http://www.canyouseeme.org/ and see if it see's 2000 as open

Re: Portal issue
Port 2000 isn't blocked.
I need my external IP address right? Would this be the same one for the wifi adapter as for my computer?

Re: Portal issue
the wifi adapter would be on your internal IP address. If you go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ it should tell you your "external" ip that you would put into the phone app / portal.
Re: Portal issue
I kept typing in my internal. Went to the mentioned site and typed in myexternalip:2000 and it worked! Like magic! Thank you.
Re: Portal issue
My portal stopped working. I have no idea why. My external ID is still the same, same router, same settings...what gives?
Re: Portal issue
Can you access the controller by browsing the internal ip?

Re: Portal issue
I've rebooted the attachment, whole controller, and router. Nothing seems to do anything.

Re: Portal issue
I'm not at home at the moment, I'll check when I am home
Re: Portal issue
My green light is slowly blinking. I didn't change anything. Won't hurt to check though.
Re: Portal issue
The slow green LED means it is connected to the wifi network.
Have you changed your code recently?
Can you ping the wifi atatchment?

Re: Portal issue
Is slow-blinking-green, with no other LEDs on at all (except yellow activity) the goal? What LEDs indicate the wifi is configured correctly?rimai wrote:The slow green LED means it is connected to the wifi network.

Re: Portal issue
yes, slow green is indication that everything should be good.
The blue is indication that it is not connected. The leds are described in the manual.

Re: Portal issue
Well, broke my computer. Until I can afford a new one, no fiddling with the controller  I can post up the address if you want.

Re: Portal issue
I no longer think this is the issue, jumping on another bandwagon.
