Wifi issues

Post by a_l_madrid »

I have been trying to get this Wifi to connect to the controller and have had some issues. Just to to make sure I understand the light should be steady and no blinking correct?

In the Wifi Utility
I have an IP address and it says that attempting to setup port forwarding. Next statment is the port 2000 is now being forwarded to 192.168.0.11

Can someone help point me in the direction to try and connect this. My Iphone app is connecting to something but does not have any values and the times are off.

I am sure this is something simple that I am not doing.

Everything looks good.
Your wifi attachment should be setup and using ip address 192.168.0.11 with port 2000.
It should be blinking slow green and no blue. That indicates it is configured.
Now, you need to upload something on your controller.
Start with the WifiTestCode.
File->Sketchbook->Example Codes->WifiTestCode
Then on your iphone app, make sure to enter the following on the settings:
ip address: 192.168.0.11
port: 2000
direct connection: on

Well now the wifi is not working and I lost the connection. I went back and established the IP and came up with a different one that started with 10. in stead of the 192..... that I was able to connect to. I did a factory reset and made sure my firmware is up to date and then I get a new error.

looking at the log, it looks like you are trying to update firmware, which you already have.
So, there is no need to try to update it again.
Just click "Setup Wifi Attachment", instead of "Update Firmware"

So I do that and I get the flashing blue light. My modem does not pick this up. I have to try some port forwarding method and I am not sure how to do that.

The stange thing is that when I got this all running this afternoon I had an IP address of 192.168.0.11 and lost the connection somewhere and now it is giving me a new IP address of 10.1.10.56. So it was working earlier today and I lost it somewhere and it has been a PIA trying to get this thing hooked back up.

I am using a Qwest Actiontec PK5000 Wireless I have added all my iphones and my Nest thermostat with no issues and this has been the most diffcult. I sure I will get there.

Go through the setup again, but don't click "Update Firmware". Use the "Setup Wifi Attachment" button.
