RF Module with Vortech MP's

Post by byee »

Anyone out there using the RA with the RF module controlling their Vortech MP pump?

I'm debating whether or not this is worth the extra $50 for the Vortech plus $100 for the RF module.

Thanks!

Please elaborate.

How has the wireless module made things easier which was not achievable w/o the RF module?

Thx!

Integration into my feeding routine.
i.e. only have to hit feed mode on ra and return/skimmer turn off and vortechs go into feeding mode

Customized post feeding automation
i.e. After return pumps come on 5 minutes later Smart NTM for 2.5 hours then back to regularly scheduled programming

Water change mode, I go into constant 25%

Ability to change speed/duration/mode from phone or portal on the fly.

Random mode each day from list of favorite modes.

I wrote a class that changes that fluctuate the speed throughout the day to simulate high and low tide. I apply this speed change to the RA wave form functions along with switching which channel is sync/anti sync to simulate incoming/outgoing flow

Ability to trigger night mode and have that synced with lighting schedule (which is calculated by GPS coordinates)

The RF module is one of the main reasons i went with an RA. :)
