Wp25 quit

Post by chapboogie »

One of my 25's quit. This one has only been in my tank Since November. My other one had been running since May. I cleaned it, even soaked it over night. Still not working. The impeller engages and sometimes a quick spin, but won't keep going.

Any suggestions? Is my pump shot? If so, is there a place to just get the pump cheap. I bought these in a group buy.

Try switching the power supply with your other one. It may not be the pump itself.

So after letting it dry for a few hours, I plugged it in and it worked. It seemed a bit weak. I put it in the water and a minute later it quit. Hmmmm

I had a similar thing happen with a WP40 that I was temporarily running with reduced voltage instead of the full 24v. Were you supplying less than 24v or using one of those dimmers to reduce the voltage?

I'm a little late on this but, if you haven't already done so, try re-seating the impeller. I had one of two new 25s do that to me as well after about a week of use. After 3 or 4 times of re-seating the impeller it's bee working fine since. That was about 3 months ago.
