Rope Leak Detector is too sensitive

I have been using the detector for several months. I've found that I have to reduce the sensitivity a little bit every 2-3 weeks to make it not alarm during these few months. But eventually, it is no room for me to reduce the sensitivity again. It is always alarm now no matter how I set the sensitivity.

Anyone encounter this situation?

Never seen this.
Was it working all along until now, except for the sensitivity adjustment?

Yes, Roberto.

Whenever I touch the adjustment cap with my finger, it stop alarm. When my finger left it, it always alarm whatever the adjustment.
