If you use tera term and it is successful, the wifi attachment should already be configured and you don't need the wifi utility anymore.
If the wifi attachment has no blinking lights, it is probably not working and it shouldn't be able to accept the script from tera term.
Can you please post the log of tera term?

The characters listed below are the only things printed on the teraterm screen.

That means the macro never ran correctly.
Is the green LED blinking? How about blue?
If you want to send it back to have it checked out, send me a PM.

hi @rimai please can you assist i followed the steps after making error of update copied and pasted earlier post of steps...

1. I updated firmware and then was trying every method for connection with no results.
2. I tried then to revert firmware via Macro suggested by 'Rimai' but was automatically changing to baud rate of 57600 (I thought I was supposed to do that)

did exactly this then:
Tried with default Baud of 9600 but no luck. blue lights are still flashing

any further advice?

I'm not so sure that it will take those dashes.

Is this still the updated macro? I'm not sure what host is the right one.

HOST=104.36.18.155:80

EDIT: Looks like this host is working. My portal began updating. It won't work in Chrome for some reason though. Whole page goes blank.

Re: Wifi will not connect after firmware update

You edited the file incorrectly.

Code: Select all

sendln 'set wlan ssid testing2'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set wlan pass a01b02c03d'
wait 'AOK'
You should only replace the testing2 and a01b02c03d and not the entire line.

That should be it, except that SSID cannot have spaces.
You have to replace them with $, I think

Is this supposed to be a one-time fix? I've done this several times now and each time, the WiFi works for a few weeks and then stop working until I run the macro again, rinse & repeat. Thanks, MB

Getting only flashing Green > Blue > Green > Blue > Blue > Green.... Is there a limitation on what the password can contain?

blue means it is not connected to your wifi network.
Did you try moving closer?
Was there any change in the router?
What security do you have in your router? Try WPA2-PSK.

Having problem with this. Cant get the wifi to work. This is my file i have used in teraterm:

x=0
while x<>121

messagebox 'Start WiFly module configuration' 'Webscan Config Program'

;this macro all sent with 5 msec character delay
timeout=10
send '$$$'
wait 'CMD'
sendln 'factory RESET'
wait 'Set Factory Defaults'

sendln 'reboot'
wait '*READY*'

;----------------------------------------
; Begin user settings

send '$$$'
wait 'CMD'
sendln 'set ftp address 198.175.253.161'
wait'AOK'
sendln 'save'
wait 'config'
sendln 'set wlan ssid Asus'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set wlan pass "my router pass"'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set option deviceid ReefAngelWifi'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set w j 1'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set c c 0'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set c r 0'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set c o 0'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set i d 1'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set c i 3'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set dns name www.reefangel.com'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set i h 104.36.18.155'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set i r 80'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set i f 0x06'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set s t 0x10'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set u m 2'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set i p 2'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set u b 57600'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set s p 0'
wait 'AOK'
sendln 'set c s 1420'
wait 'AOK'

sendln 'save'
wait 'config'

sendln 'save user'
wait 'user'

sendln'reboot'

;inputbox 'Configure another module (y/n)' 'WiFly Config Program'

; convert inputstr to ASCII int value
; str2code x inputstr

endwhile

When i load the macro it say Webscan Config Program, and then its couting up to 65 or something, then the same Webscan Config Program comes again and again. Never a message thats its done and ok. Whats should i do to fix it?
