PH probe dropping

Post by jjdezek »

My PH in my tank (according to the probe) has dropped from about 7.8 all the way down to 1.24 in the last week or two. Would this be a recalibrating issue or something else. I've been battling hair algae and was dosing vinegar and mag to try and combat the hair algae. Once I noticed the decline in PH I stopped dosing those but it stool keeps dropping.

Sounds like a bad probe. Clean and recalibrate it. If it does the same thing, it needs to be replaced.

Some diluted vinegar. Be gentle with a toothbrush. Dont go nuts its probably a bad probe. They last about a year.

Dosing vinegar will drop your pH in your system.
