It's pretty simple to mod it too.

All you need is a small relay to close those 2 contacts to simulate the press of the button. :)
What relay would you recommend?

Are you shorting the output of the relay to simulate a button press or applying voltage?

The way it has been done on the Ehiem Auto Feeder is we are applying 12v current to a relay that in turn is closing the connection for the feeder button and rotating the feeder chamber. Simulating a push of the button.

Thanks Steve,
I think I understand, you're using a relay to activate their relay?

I have some relays similar to this and honestly I have no idea how to wire it and program it with the RA.

Any low level tips or links to a tutorial site would be much appreciated.

Damn, I just noticed you said the Eheim feeder...
What about the Intelli-Feed?

Don't know about that one. I know it works with the Eheim.
If you can figure out what to trigger on the Intelli-Feed then it should work.

On that relay from the previous page, could we use 12v versions and the 12v power supply sold on the store to trigger it? Or any 12v device for that matter? Like a 12v water valve for ato reservoir refill or water change bin filling?

Or could the 12v power supply directly drive a 12v solenoid for a water valve?

Depends how many amps the solenoid needs. Most likely not a lot so yes.
