Wifi Module Solid Red and Yellow

Post by paperdesk »

I just got my RA and wifi attachment, but am having trouble getting the wifi attachment to work. I got to a point where the wifi attachment had a slow blinking green light, and an IP address of 0.0.0.0.2000. I tried running through the programming again toget a proper IP address but to no avail. Now, however, the red and yellow lights have gone on and stay on solid.

What to do now?

And it gives me an error code:
ERROR - Please disconnect and then reconnect the Reef Angel Wifi Attachment from the USB-TTL cable and try again.

I have another FTDI device I used that I thought might be causing problems, but it's on another COM port, so I think that is ruled out.

I'll PM you about the RMA.

By the way, for the record, I connected via Teraterm, and got the following Gibberish:

I tried to replace the firmware via Teraterm as outlined here http://forum.reefangel.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4601
and got more gibberish. After setting the baud rate to 57600 I got the following:

*FAIL*, handshake
EAP TRY #3
*FAIL*, handshake
EAP-TLS Client APP version 1.00 10/11/12
*FAIL*, handshake
EAP TRY #2
*FAIL*, handshake
EAP TRY #3

Ok, I got the replacement attachment and it works! However, I'm a little confused about the wifi test code. When I upload the wifi test code it shuts down everything in my tank. Does this mean that it is replacing my current sketch? I re-uploaded my previous sketch and was up and running again. I am able to view my tank info in the demo server occasionally and often get an "unable to connect to the server" message. Then, mysteriously, it will sometimes work.

I can currently view my info in the portal and the demo server, though under "connection" in the portal it says "unreachable address".

The test code is just a test, you have to put your ino back when done testing. Unreachable means your port forwarding needs to be setup.

OK got it. Thought port forwarding was good but will double check settings.

Got it all ironed out, somehow one of the settings didn't "take" the first time, but it's working now!
