dosing pump calibration

Post by grafxalien »

just hooked up 2 of the dosing pumps. i calibrated by timing how long it took to move 250cc. Got one to be 0.6cc/sec and the other to be 0.65cc/sec. Is it normal to be off the 0.75 mark?

No two pumps will ever be the same. .15cc/sec is about right.

awesome. thanks. also- what is the minimum time you can use for a dosing pump to be on? I wanted to do frequent small doses to minimize swings. I set a 5 sec on time. I just watched one of the dosing intervals and it seems like it only actually pumped for 1 second. Is there is a delay in the pumps coming on/spinning up from the time it gets power?

Depends on the pump. Best thing to do is try out the schedule you want and have it dose into something you can measure. Or better yet measure the before and after of your source solution as evaporation could skew the results if you are measuring the dosed amount.
