Jebao DC vs Jebao DCT

Post by rrodriguess »

hi there

Does anyone knows if its possible to control the Jebao DCT 6000 the same way we control the DC version? Its important to me since I have to import them and it is quite expensive.

Any thoughts or experience?

Best regards
Rafa

I haven't heard much about them.
I would think that connection would be the same as the Wavemakers and the DC return pumps, but who knows.

I did find this one image that seems to have the same 3 prong water tight connection that the other Jebao devices have been using.
I'm not sure if it's reversed or not.

I did find this on manhattanreefs.com by maddhugan

DC can be controlled by Neptune Apex controller (after you buy the Apex to Jebao box for $39 from fishstreet.com), But the pump DCT IS NOT CONTROLLABLE BY NEPTUNE APEX CONTROLLER.

DC has 6 speed step levels but the DCT has 10 speed step levels.
If the Apex can't control it I don't think the Reef Angel will either.

I just bought the Jebao DCT 6000 hoping to control it with the reef angel. I wish I would have seen this post before buying it. Hopefully someone else can chime in on this to see if the reef angel can control it.

The cables look the same as the DC6000 or the wave pumps, but it looks like the pump has a female connection where the DC pumps and the wave pumps have a male connection.

Yeah, mine has a female connection on the pump side. If that is the only problem, couldn't i just cut the male end off the Jebao controller and solder that on the pump side? I could sacrifice the Jebao controller since I would control it through the reef angel.

That should work.
I've never tried it though.

Are you running a Jebao DC return pump? I was just wondering if you did to see if you ran into any issues with it.

I'm running a DC-6000 on ny 55 for about 5 months now and have had no problems.
I'm going to put a DC-12000 on my 90 in a little bit.

I've had my DC-9000 for several months with no problems. I should probably clean it soon. :D
