Salinity Probe

Post by Lionfan »

Got the v salinity probe hooked up, and planned to use it to help with a hypo treatment. But, so far. This thing is extremely inaccurate. I calibrated it with 35 ppt fluid. Has anyone had this problem, or am I missing something?

Is your 35 ppt fluid actually 35 ppt?

Yelp. It's the same fluid I use with my refractometer. I'm not dissonant.

Have you tried testing the probe in a cup of water isolated from the rest of your equipment? This will isolate any potential stray voltage issues..

Tried it. Still shot up to about 34.9. My actual level is about 14ppt. So this thing is way off

Before I send it in, should I have kept the plastic on the tip?
