Erratic Water Level Expansion

Post by tanked_kiwi »

So I received my multi water level expansion the yesterday. Changed my code last night to use this for the ato, set up a tube in my return chamber and plugged it all in. Have calibrated it multiple times on different channels with the same issue. It fluctuates terribly. If its sitting around say 60% it will fluctuate up and down around 3 or 4 percent each way, but sometimes a lot more like up to 80 and down to 30. What would cause this? I'll post a video of it if need be.

Does this happen on all channels?

Yep it does, I tried in it on 1 then 2 and have the same problem on 3, I assume channel 4 will be the same.

I have moved the tube from my return section to the main part of my sump and it seems to have settled some. It still fluctuates around 4-6% even though my sump level is constant. Is this normal? I thought it should be alot more steady than this.

It should.
What are the numbers you see when calibrating at 0% and 100%?

Hmm, woke up this morning and checked the controller and its now perfectly stable at 63, bounces between 63 and 64 but I assume that's completely normal. Will hookup another pipe in my overflow and see how I get on but for now its looking good. The values its set at are 731 min and 1709 max.

Seems I spoke too soon. Channel 3 which is in the sump is still fluctuating about 4-6%. I have just set up another pipe in the display for testing on channel 4 and its bouncing round like in the video. Both of these levels should be completely stable. Channels 1 and 2 are giving odd readings at calibration, 1 for 0% and 5 or 6 for 100%.

Another video showing both channels and where they're positioned.

Edit: 10mins after posting this channel 3 has climbed to 89-94 and channel 4 somewhere above 120. I haven't changed anything and the water levels are the same.

If it is giving 1 for 0%, there might be something wrong with it.
PM me for RMA #.
