Jebao/Speedwave Cable issue

Post by Sacohen »

I noticed last night that mu WP-40 was not running properly, after switching cables and pumps around I think I determined it's a problem with the cable.

The pump was turning on for a split second and not making any wave.

I took the pump out and cleaned it (same issue).
I put a different pump on the Actinic channel (same issue)
I moved the cable and pump over to the Daylight channel (same issue)
I finally tried a different cable on both on my pumps and on both channels and it worked normally.

My question is what could be causing this?
Did a resistor or something burn out on the board?

This is a cable that I cut the header off of and was going to use with the dimming module, but then needed it in an emergency so I soldered the end back on and it's worked fine for several months now.

Sounds unlikely, but could happen.
Do you see any damage?

I don't see any damage.

The DC plug looks corroded.

It seems to be getting the proper power though.

I didn't take the heat shrink off though so I can't see if there's any damage on the board.

I cut off the heat shrink and nothing on the board looks damaged.

I want to pull some readings off of the cable gong to the pump.
Which wires should I check?
The White/Green (Common) and the Blue (Ground)?

Brown is GND.
Blue is +24V
Yellow/Green is the signal.

I did some more examining and checking and noticed that one of the pins was loose and eventually came out.
