Replacing failed RA+ relay box

I have an RA+ system on which one of the relay boxes seems to have gone bad. Whenever any of the relays on that box are energised, they click on and off continuously (couple times per second). Have tried replacing comms and USB cables, epxansion module, connecting the box directly to the head unit; no joy -- I think the relay box itself is toast.
Question: Are the new "Universal Relay Expansion" boxes compatible with an RA+ system as a drop-in replacement?
If not, how can I obtain one of the old-style relay boxes as these no longer seem to be listed on the online store?
