New wifi?
Re: New wifi?
Interesting concept!
I took a look at their site http://www.electricimp.com/ and there seems to be a number of possibilities. In their demo video they show a sensor that could be used for an ATO, looks smart as it appeared to give a linear variable output as the probe was lifted from the water.
Worth subscribing to their news letter.

Re: New wifi?
I did contact the manufacturer already on Saturday.
Let's just wait to see what they would have to offer.

Re: New wifi?
Thank you both. I love the current wifi module, but this thing looks sleek and should give the RA an edge over the rest.
Re: New wifi?
Well it supports UART so it should be as simple as connecting the RX, TX for com, and VCC and Ground for power.

Any updates on this? I am thinking of ordering a controller but waiting to see if this wifi version will become available.rimai wrote:I did contact the manufacturer already on Saturday.

Re: New wifi?
I got an email a couple days ago saying they were going to start to ship out the dev kits soon.
But I still don't have any dates or anything other than "soon".

Re: New wifi?
So how would you use the arduino shield? I assume you would need to solder a connection from the shield that would connect to the bottom port.

Re: New wifi?
Will there be a waiting list once you have the module ready for production?
Re: New wifi?
Any news on this. I know they had limited availability on the imp boards.
Re: New wifi?
Yes, I got my hands on them.
They are too early on the development stage for this to be viable.
I just got an email from them today that the platform for manufacturers to commission imp cards will only be available next year.
On top of that, even if you commission the imp yourself, there is still not a way to get data from the controller. You can easily send data out, but no way to read the latest parameters from the controller itself.
So, I can see this imp solution being a viable solution in the future, but right now, it won't work for our purposes.
