PWM Expansion needed?
PWM Expansion needed?
Hi,
I am planning a new build with 4 Meanwell drivers, or 4 Steve's LED drivers. Is it possible to connect 2 drivers into EACH PWM channel already included with my current Reef Angel? And if so, how would I do this.
Thank you so much.

Re: PWM Expansion needed?
Is there a limit to how many I can connect to each PWM channel? I plan on having three drivers for one channel, and another 2 on another channel for around 60 leds total.
Thanks so much. Your support is awesome as always...Now this enables me to pick up a wifi adapter instead of the pwm!

Re: PWM Expansion needed?
There is but you should be fine with 3.
The limitation is 40mA draw from all drivers when they are at 100%.
Each meanwell I think draws around 3mA.

Re: PWM Expansion needed?
Thanks Again! And do you know if it is possible to dim the meanwells to 0%? Apparently they cut out at 15%, according to another thread. Im trying to decide between the Steves LeD Drivers and the mean wells.
Re: PWM Expansion needed?
LPF series is supposed to go down to 3%. ELN series cut off at around 15%
I've heard Steve's go all the way to 1%.

Since you brought up Steve's...let me hijack with a quick question...can you have a pot and pwm with the meanwell's? Steve's has a separate input for a manual dimmer in addition to the pwm input...

You can have both?
Roberto.
Re: PWM Expansion needed?
What is the difference between the LPF and ELN series? Sorry if this is unrelated to you, but it seems like you know a lot about it...
Re: PWM Expansion needed?
Right after I posted, I was like, duhh!!??
Of course you can.
If you pot the dimming signal, you get to feed the driver a % of the dimming signal, which makes it double dimming if you will... lol

Re: PWM Expansion needed?
LPF is their newer model. Never used it though. Sebyte (Steve) and 00Warpig00 (Nick) are using them.

Re: PWM Expansion needed?
Ill have to look into it. Thanks!
