Might it make sense to have a wiki rather than constantly having to track down the "master thread" for doing some particular thing?

We've previously discussed this, but I think the end solution was "we can put things in the github wiki".

I think github is a good place to have a code-related wiki, but how about for things like installing wifi and other general "how do I.... ?" questions?

Do you have any other wiki engine to suggest?

I agree it should all be in the wiki.

I have offered to help fill in articles that I can contribute if someone can generate a better template/outline for us to work off of. I'm happy to help, but right now don't have the bandwidth to lead the charge...

So, if anyone is looking for some way to contribute, here's your opportunity.

This is a very common one: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki
I haven't installed it myself but my understanding is it's pretty easy to get up and running.
There are instructions to get it up in IIS, though I would guess it is easier with Apache.

Alternatively, I don't mind hosting it on one of my machines either.

I think with something like this up and running, and one person to setup the general initial layout, it would be pretty easy for people to contribute to.

i use mediawiki and have for many years now. i have one on my website (just not live yet) and i am planning on creating web pages for my apps using the wiki.

so using it would be a great idea. im sure we can figure out how to get it setup on IIS and running on the website....something like reefangel.com/wiki. :-)

it is super easy to configure and get going. once running, it is very easy to contribute and maintain.

Seems to work well to me.
I framed out a couple pages... they obviously still need a lot of help :-)
Any suggestions for other specific pages to start with?

there are some changes to be made but it is still early. :-)
