relay box out put is passably staying on

Are relays or Solid state drivers used to power the relay box plugs. I may have one misbehaving.

I am asking because my tank has over heated 3 times while I was away and and then would behaved good for 1 to 2 days then would start to over heat again. The portal and display would both show off, but the temp would continue to rise. I am not at home and troubleshooting from work about 2000 miles away. a very confused Mother in law is trying to help me. lol

I have confirmed that the temp probe is reading correct.

The heater I used does not have a controller, I rely on the Reef Angel to control it.

It's mechanical relay.
If the temperature continued to rise, at what point it would stop?

First, and second time it stopped at about 80 deg. Last night it got as high as 81.5 deg and was not showing any signs of stopping.

But how did you get it to stop 1st and 2nd?
How about the 3rd?

1st and 2nd times it stopped on it own. 3rd time I had the mother in law pull the power plug from the relay box.

Has the code been changed?
It looks like it is doing it in a pattern.
It starts in the afternoon and it stops around 1 or 2 in the morning. Almost like following your light cycle?

No code has been changed for a few months. We did however move to a new city about 3 weeks ago. last night when I started getting alert emails i watched for some time thou the portal. the heater was showing red, but i watch the temp climb about 1.2 more degrees.

Last night my daughter and mother in law hook up a spare heater that has a controller. With both the reef angel controller and portal both showing off the relay off, the spare heater had a green light show power applied to it.

So Roberto would you say I need to order a replacement relay box?
