Help with Port forwarding for WIFI
Help with Port forwarding for WIFI
Hi Guys, hoping someone can help here.
I am over in the UK and have tried in vain to set up port forwarding and just cannot get it to work, and I am starting to think this may be because of my BT supplied router.
I have set up everything in my router as it should be basically routing port 2000 to my wifi IP address, but the port is just not opened.
I even contacted my phone supplier and discussed with the technical people and they have supplied me with their latest router but it still wont open. I tried talking to their technical people and they said they will charge £30 to open my port, but I am sure I have done everything right and it should be open!!
They then suggested I contact Reef Angel to see if there is another port I can try as port 2000 may be the problem.
Can anyone help me through this as its really frustrating me!!

Re: Help with Port forwarding for WIFI
The default port is 2000, unless you manually change it

Did you manage to sort it out?
Re: Help with Port forwarding for WIFI
Hi, sorry for the delay, been very busy, just got around to trying but still stuck cause Im thick I think!!
So, I have created an account at no-ip.com and I have managed to set my router to talk to my account - and the router software confirms they are talking - great!!!
Then I have created an app for my router called reefangeldns and I have assigned that to my reef angel wifi (also set static ip for reef angel wifi) and tried probing port with youtestsignal and says its closed.
So Im stuck again - im sure it is something stupid i am doing!!
In my no-ip setup, it is set for host type as DNS Host 9A) and I have entered the reefangel wifi ip address as the ip address - is this correct?
Please help, as this is frustrating me!!
cheers..

Re: Help with Port forwarding for WIFI
Hang on - think I may have sorted it!!
I have changed the IP address on the noip to my current ip address that it finds, and then when I do a port check, I let it use the IP address that it finds and for port 2000, says it open - does that sound like its correct?
Unfortunately cannot check with my mobile as reception is rubbish!
cheers..

Re: Help with Port forwarding for WIFI
OK,
Tried my mobile app with 3G, but doesnt update - I have set to my wifi IP address and port 2000, but suspect I need to point to another IP address?
Can anyone help please?
thanks...

Re: Help with Port forwarding for WIFI
You need to use your external ip and not the internal ip
