Is there any way to update the code using the Wifi attachment, or is only possible via serial using the USB?
I have my unit up and running and the webserver is functioning, just wondering if there is any way to actually push code to it.
Program over Wifi
Re: Program over Wifi
There's no way to upload via Wifi. It's only via USB cable right now. I know Roberto has tried a few times but was unable to get things to work reliably and consistently. If you were wanting something wirelessly to update, you could check out the Bluetooth adapter. I'm thinking that people have been able to use this to upload wirelessly (although it does require bluetooth).
The webserver on the controller is just to display a general status page and to send data to the apps that request it.

Yes the bluetooth module was designed with the intent of uploading your code wirelessly.
I use it without any problems.
Some people on Windows 8 have had issues getting it to work, but they have all been resolved, I think.
Here is the thread on it.

I don't think Roberto has them on the store yet, but PM him and ask if he has any of the prototypes left or when they will be in the store.

Re: Program over Wifi
Thanks for the replies. I might check out the bluetooth adapter later, but I guess for now I'll stick with USB. It's not that big of a pain with a laptop, but wireless updates would be nice.

They are very nice.
.
I looked on the store and I don't see that Roberto has put the bluetooth module up yet so I guess he is waiting for production of them.
You don't realize how nice it is until you have it.
I had noticed that something didn;t seem right on my tank from the Andriod App, so I logged into my laptop at home thru TeamViewer (a remote control desktop program), made a quick change to something in my code and updated the code from my office 25 miles away.

Agreed. I would go weeks without making a minor change to the code that I know I needed to make because I'm just too lazy to plug the cable in. My RA is only about 10 feet away from my computer and it's not a big deal to hook it up but I got the Bluetooth anyway. Now I'll make very minor tweaks here and there throughout the week just because I don't have to hook up the cable.Sacohen wrote:You don't realize how nice it is until you have it.
The best part is now I can sit in my bean-bag chair in front of the TV on the other side of the room, eat Cheetos, and program my RA all at the same time
