How does everyone keep their water level pipe attached?

Piece of 1/4" acrylic, drill a 3/4 hole in it, glue it to the side of the sump with Craftics #33 acrylic glue up high enough so that it holds the bottom of the tube slightly off the bottom of the sump.

Cut a slit in a PVC T or Elbow the thickness of your sump wall.
Set it over the Sump wall and drill out the stop on a T that keeps the pipe from going all the way thru

It works really well. I also use it for ATO float switches. You can run the wires thru the PVC pipe to protect them.

Slot an Elbow.
Put in a length of pipe including an end cap or plug (I haven't tried a plug yet) to get you close to the water level you want the float switch at.
Drill a hole in the end cap big enough for the stem of the float switch.
Feed the wire and stem of the float switch through the hole, pipe and out the end cap.
Don't forget to put the nut on the stem of the float switch.

What I actually did was drill the hole for the float switch stem a bit smaller then the stem and then found a screw or bolt with the same thread pattern as the float switch steam and us it to tap out the hole. then you can screw the float switch directly into the end cap. You also have the ability to fine tune the level of the switch because you can screw it in further or not as much in the end cap.

I'll try to get a picture of it.

Also if you are using it for the ATO high you will have to flip the float around or use you ATO Reverse code.

It works really great and a side benefit that I didn't think about when I first came up with the idea is the adjust-ability.

Along the same lines - how would I monitor my Skimmer cup (physically) - how would I attach the pipe? Can I just use the flex tubing?

Do you want to know how to get the slit to match the radius of your collection cup?
I don't really have an answer to that right now.

I drain my cup in another container. Cup is too small.

I do the same thing. My cup drains into a 1 gallon jug that I keep an eye on and empty when needed.
My skimmer sucks and does not produce a lot of skimate so I clean it 1 a week any way so the gallon never really gets much in it.

If you didnt want to drain it to another container and monitor that (recommended) then you could drill a hole and silicone in a piece of rigid tube that you could attach the airline too. The only thing is I dont know how sensitive the measurement would be in that case. I believe the less air in the tube the less the pressure change will be as the level rises. You could try and calibrate and see..

Yes it's Greek. It's the equivalent of George in English, Jorge in Spanish, Georg in German, Giorgio in Italian etc

If your son's friend has Greek origins then we have the same name. It's the most common first name over here
