Jebao wp40 and jebao dc6000 help with dimming expansion
Well after many heart aches and lessons learned the hard way, ive finally got my new custom rimless 125G acrylic tank in my living room
"Girlfriends pissed". This weekend i plan on upgrading my current 55 to the new tank. for now im working on getting everything ready. Im going to be using the reef angel plus (analog) to control my tank. I recently bought the expansion hub and the dimming expansion to control everything. My leds are all analog, and i want to be able to control both my leds and the powerhead as well as the return pump. My question is with the expansion module, Im confused as of what does the expansion module needs to be set on to control the pumps (analog or PWM) 0-5V or 5-10? also how should i hook up the leds if i need to control 3 channels ? all to the dimming expansion or to the relay expansion? or should i hook up the jebao and the dc pump to another (+-) on the relay box or my other relay expansion box? Ive also got 3 lunar lights and the dimmable lunar expansion module. If i remember right i think i used my RA+ head unit to wire my lunar lighta through.
In other words, im confused as to where I should hook up my leds,wavemaker, and return pump with all these modules now and what should i change on the dimming expansion to make it happen

Re: Jebao wp40 and jebao dc6000 help with dimming expansion
The Expansion hub is only required if you are trying to use 2 or more expansions(Wifi unit is an attachment not an expansion).
If you recently bought the Dimming Expansion by default it is set to PWM. There should be a manual in the download section that will show you how to set it to Analog.
There should be a total of 9 terminals on your Dimming expansion, the left 6 are your positive, and the right 3 are your negatives.
If you are trying to control all 3 LED channels separately then connect all 3 in separate terminals. If two channels are the same (blue for example) You can have the + line of both drivers go into the same terminal so you can control them both via the same line of code.
As for the jebao, it depends on what jebao cable configuration you ordered from Roberto as to whether you would plug them into a Daylight/Actinic dimming port on the relay, into an ATO port or into your dimming expansion.

Wow thanks for all the help . The jebao cables have a +- connector and a dc plug.ReEfnWrX wrote:The Expansion hub is only required if you are trying to use 2 or more expansions(Wifi unit is an attachment not an expansion).

I'm confused on what setting the expansion dimming has to be on to control the jebao and if certain terminals can be used for the jebao(4-5) and the others for the lights "say terminals"(1-3) .

Do you have a Jebao cable from Roberto that eliminates the Jebao controller? You need to eliminate that controller to use the RA to control the jebao

If you want to control thr speed of the pump it needs to be in the dimming ports. Using the relay will just let you turn it on and off.

Here is how I would set it up:
Relay Box Actinic Channel - Jebao 1
Relay Box Daylight Channel - Jebao 2
Channel 0 - 0-10PWM - DC6000
Channel 1 - 0-10PWM - Lunar Hub
Channel 2 - 0-10Analog - LED driver 1
Channel 3 - 0-10Analog - LED driver 2
Channel 4 - 0-10Analog - LED driver 3
Relay Box Actinic Channel - Jebao 1
Relay Box Daylight Channel - Jebao 2
Channel 0 - 0-10PWM - DC6000
Channel 1 - 0-10PWM - Lunar Hub
Channel 2 - 0-10Analog - LED driver 1
Channel 3 - 0-10Analog - LED driver 2
Channel 4 - 0-10Analog - LED driver 3

How many do you have?
I placed 2 jebao pumps on the relay box dimming channels.
Do you have 3?
If so, yes... You can connect it to channel 5.

The Jebao pumps work on analog or PWM.

Re: Jebao wp40 and jebao dc6000 help with dimming expansion
I have my WP-40 on the actinic PWM
WP-25 on daylight PWM
DC6000 will go on dimming 0 analog.
And the chinese LED's 1-4 analog.
Actually I had a side question for Roberto.
I have 2 chinese led's with 2 channels each. 1 whites and 1 blues. Can I put the 2 whites together on one dimming port so cooling will be simpler?

Offset the whites so 1 side of the tank lights up before the other?

Yeah blues too
set a nice parabola with the whites and a slope on the blues have a little overlap while the blues are coming up with whites at a different rate..should look nice...at least thats what i'm planning when i hack these d120/

Re: Jebao wp40 and jebao dc6000 help with dimming expansion
I'll give it a try. Always open to suggestions. It's going to be a bit before I set them up.
Still have to build a new stand and move the tank over.

That is something I was thinking about doing. Too bad Meanwells cut off below 11% dimming. Anyone know of good alternative drivers that will not cut off until they reach 0%?

The Meanell LDD can be set up to dim to 0. There is thread on Reef Central about it.

Re: Jebao wp40 and jebao dc6000 help with dimming expansion
Ok so ive got everything working except my dc pump and the wp40 , the lights are working great and the added t5s just throw the tank over the top. I also cant find the way to select the mode that i want for the wp40, is it where the dc pump is in the " wizard"? i want to be able to put the dc pump in one mode and the wp40 in another one? i have my dc pump on the main relay daylight channel and the wp40 on the actinic. could someone also tell me how to insert the code as a scrollable box?

Re: Jebao wp40 and jebao dc6000 help with dimming expansion
You can use the wizard to help you write the code for the Jebaos and set the modes.
but the code it generate would be something like this...
This is a 50% speed with a 10% variance for the Lagoon Mode.
If you set UseMemory to trueyou can change the modes in the portal.
Also you can get the code into the scroll box by clicking on code above (in the Full Editor) and then entering the code between the open and closing statements.

but the code it generate would be something like this...
This is a 50% speed with a 10% variance for the Lagoon Mode.
If you set UseMemory to trueyou can change the modes in the portal.
Code: Select all
ReefAngel.DCPump.UseMemory = false;
ReefAngel.DCPump.SetMode( Lagoon,50,10 );
ReefAngel.DCPump.DaylightChannel = AntiSync;
ReefAngel.DCPump.ActinicChannel = Sync;

It looks like you have your Jebao pumps in the actinic and daylight channels and you lights on 0-3 (or the first 4) channels on the dimming expansion module.
But you say your lights are working great so why are you saying...

The daylight and ACtinic channels will only work on the Main(First) Relay. Any additional relays the daylight/actinic channels will not work
