Actinic channel not working

Post by davaraj »

Recently I had a power outage and when the power was restored I found the actinic channel not working. The wavemaker connected to this channel does not spin. Also the wavemaker connected to the daylight channel just spins without any waveform. Luckily I had bought an extra relay box earlier. So I connected everything from the old relay box to the new one and the wavemakers are functioning as before. How do I rectify/ repair the actinic and daylight channels. Is it possible?

That looks like your chip may have gone bad.
If you open the relay box, you will see a LM341 chip. You must replace that one.

Thanks Roberto.

Where do I locate the chip? Is it on the other side of the circuit board? How do I access the other side as there are no screws to take out.

Roberto,
The only chip that I can see is LM358P. Is that what I have to replace?

Never mind. I managed to take the circuit board out from the main cover.

The jumpers are connected to analog. Can I change it to PWM to run the Jebao wavemakers?

Is this the correct chip?
So this must be the correct chip now.

The Jabeo's can run as PWM or Analog. You can try changing to PWM to see if that functionality still works... not sure what the chip that Roberto is asking to replace does...

Yeah, that one. Sorry for the wrong chip. I was typing on the road :(
The markings are inverted. So, Analog is not really analog. It is in fact PWM.

Thanks Roberto,

I changed the chip for a new one and now both dimming channels are working as before.
