RA gone Crazy

Post by mask0017 »

Hi
RA unit went crazy tonight, flashing red light then all went off left with green light lit dim.
Have to power down to get it running again. Did that about 6 times.
On rebooting no temp reading. unplugged that looks like a slack wire in connector, got that going.
PH drops down to 1-2 and sticks there. Take probe out of tank it climbs up.
If the ATO high lights up PH goes up to normally what it reads. ATO high goes to red PH drops to 1-2 and sticks there.
Reboot unit Ph goes to 7 but drops to 1-2 in a few mins.
Unit only 2-3 months old and being going great.
Any ideas? seems like somit shorting out inside unit or somthing

PH probe drops like that are usually due to stray voltage. Take the float switches out of the water and actuate them to see what happens. Could be a bad switch, or whatever they're controlling is leaking voltage.

Yip one of the switches seems to have gone. RA goes ok with the other switch tested on both ports.
Set it it for the one switch ATO just now see how it goes. But all seems good so far.
Thanks for the help saved a lot of hair pulling there. :-)
