Dosing pump issue

Post by jjdezek »

I have 2 dosing pumps, one for vinegar and one for kalk. The one that doses kalk won't stay primed, it slowly drains back to the container. The vinegar one seems to work fine. Is there some issue with the one that can be fixed?

Maybe disassemble the head and make sure the tubing is in the right place? You might also check for an air leak between the container and the pump. How long does it take it to drain?

Not sure how long it takes to lose the vacuum. I pulled it apart to see if the small tube inside was damaged, looked a little flat. Not sure if the tube isn't being pinched off enough by the rollers or what. I've replaced both lines going into and coming out of the pump. Only thing I haven't done is replaced the little connectors or the small tube in the pump.

Also it won't pull the fluid up the tube at first. I have to syphon it up to the pump then it will begin to move it.

I would try replacing the tubing in the pump. If that doesn't fix it you may need a new pump head.

Is that the tube that's $6 a ft? I was wondering why it was so short.

Should there be some kind of lube on the tube?

Dosing pump issue

Post by DJhex »

Just came home from work and I heard my dosing pump running 4 hours after it should have been. It dumped 2 weeks worth of 2 part calcium. I took a quick test and got 670 any thoughts would be appreciated thanks

On the siphon back issue. If you turn the cartridge 90 degrees so it faces forward instead of left or right it might help. On the over dose do a normal water change, then let it sit and it will drop naturally.

Well I replaced the small tube but it still won't pull the fluid from the container without assistance, and it still drained back once I get it pulled through.

sounds like the dosing pump head is mis-aligned. if the rollers are not completely compressing tube against wall, they will allow air in or out. who makes your dosing pump?
