programmable relay for redundancy purpose

Post by tngo »

Anyone know of a type of relay that will power on once power is applied to it and then stay on for a programmable time say 1 minute or less and then turn off. Once the power goes off to this redundant relay the timer resets and awaits for power to be applied to the redundant relay. I would like to have a redundant timer for ATO and dosing purposes in case there are any lockups to the main RA timer. I haven't found anything readily available like this online. Roberto is this something that can be made if none are available on the market?

Thanks
Tim

There are many of these available in the market.
Search for time delay relay. I just bought one on eBay last month for a machine.

Thanks for the info Roberto. Found the following timer delay relay, but no manual . From the wiring diagram it looks like pin 7/2 are source power, 5/2 for the power delay output, and short 1/3 to reset timer?

Ended up choosing the interval on relay version from Macromatic. They have about a dozen type of these delay relays. Nifty.
