Problem with the Wifi module and a weird error

Post by vonjankmon »

So my wifi module started acting odd, not connecting or connecting intermittently so I thought I would reset it and set it back up from scratch. Tried the WiFi setup tool but whenever I tried to send the configuration it would error out and tell me to reconnect the wifi module. Resetting it via the tool and via the little internal button did not resolve the issue at all.

So I moved onto the Terra Term option, it looks like it connected up fine but I can't get it to connect to my Wifi again. Also when I give the save command I don't get the "AOK" back, not sure if there is normal or whether the instructions are just a bit off. When I do a "get w" I get the following back:

<4.41> get w
SSID=FiOS-TCW4X
Chan=0
ExtAnt=0
Join=0
Auth=MIXED
Mask=0x1fff
Rate=12, 24 Mb
Linkmon=30
Passphrase=**************
EAP_Id=userid
EAP_User=peap-user

Not sure why the EAP lines are there but they are not in the instructions.

I also periodically get *ERR WATCHDOG: 2EA00* showing up after a reboot in the Terra Term window.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this or did my WiFi module die?

Can you post "get e"?

The ssid and password are not set.
Can you post the sequence when you set them and send the save command?

One thing I noticed was that the auth is set to mixed but I am trying to set it to WAP2, which in the instructions is value 4, which I used. Could that be a part of the problem? And if so what value should I use then?

Really thinking there is just something wrong with the hardware at this point since the setup wizard doesn't work and I am having to use TerraTerm but if anyone has any idea please let me know.

Are you sure you are using the macro posted on this thread?

Join is never set to 1, so the module will never connect to your wifi.

Awesome! That worked, the script to correct the settings got everything up and running again.
